SD Card in Nikon F10 not recognised by XP

\015 I have a Nikon F10 camera. I bought a 4 GB SD card and started shooting pictures with camera. Now when I want to download the pictures I can not find the files, but I can view them on the camera LCD screen. Even when I remove this card and insert this in to an SD card reader connected to PC, the card is detected, but PC asks to insert a card again when we click the card icon. I suspect that Nikon is using a different file format. If this is so, how do I back up the photos to my PC?Pls help. Thanks\015

Answers :

It could be one of two problems. The most likely is that the card reader you are using cannot read SDHC cards, of which all 4GB and larger cards are. Try using the camera's cable to download to your computer directly to the USB port. I bet you'll find that it works that way. The other problem could be (but not likely) that you are shooting on the RAW file format, instead of the jpeg file format. Most software cannot recognize RAW files, but jpeg is pretty universal.

Hello, my Nikon D-90 is stuck with the r-33 error message with the f-stop flashing. This happened after I emptied the memory card onto my laptop from a card reader. When I reinserted it the camera froze. I tried a friend's card ( he has a Nikon too ) and his card didn't work on my camera either so that eliminates the card I think. Any ideas? My Nikon d40x is roughly three years old and the lens has had to have been repaired twice due to it being dropped. Lens is working fine though now. Yesterday i was getting out my car and the camera fell out my bag, the lens still works fine but now the camera is refusing to take more than 1 photo and saying "card is full". Tried my brothers memory card in it and its doing the same although his memory card works fine with his camera (nikon d60). Someone help!

I have a Nikon D70 camera. I'm using a Lexar 2GB card inside. Problem focuses on the card. Previous to this moment, card has worked fine. Today, shot photos and when I hooked up the camera to download the pics, got an error in the viewfinder (CHR). Looked at the manual, and it said problem was with the card. I removed the card, and placed it in a card reader. It worked fine and I was able to transfer the photos. Replaced the card, and still get the same error. I've already re-formatted the card,

First, memory cards don't last forever, so it may be time for a new card. Make sure you check the pins in your camera and the contacts in your card for dust/dirt. I'd guess you already looked at this, though. \015\012\015\012I've had s ... Nikon D70 Body Only Digital Camera
