Battery Cover Coolpix L11 Removal

\015 I'm trying to remove the battery cover on this camera and I am able to seperate the two halves apart. Problem is, is that I cannot slide the pin out, even grabbing it with needle nose pliers. I don't want to force anything and break something. I've already nicked the case a bit, in trying to get the two halves apart. Altogether, there are 7 screws. I undid them all, as undoing just a few of them wasn't enough to separate the two halves part.\015\012\015\012Any help would be appreciated. I'm already out the cost of the part. Would hate to have to take it in to have this done, when I'm *this* close to getting it done.\015\012\015\012Thanks for your help!\015

Nikon COOLPIX S710 stops working after battery and/or memory card are removed. I have reformed the memory card (no change). Purchased 2X new batteries (no change).
