Green light on camera back to the right of the 'delete' button continually flashes on-off about 1 second intervals as soon as battery is inserted as long as CF card is in place. Switching camera ON produces no visible operational indicators. Depressing "Menu" button flashes: hour glass; menu display; blank screen. Holding button down just cycles as above. Swapped lens, data card, battery, connected EH-5 power source; nothing makes any difference. Checked same lens in another D70 camera; it's OK.

I have a Digital Rebel 40 D camera less than 1 year old and I removed the memory card and I cannot get it to go back into the slot. The eject button is still depressed after I depressed it to eject the memory card out of it. This is the first time this has happened. I had the original Canon Rebel with over 100,000 pictures taken on it and this never happened. This camera has less than 5,000 shoots and not it is unusable. Any suggestions ? Thank you, Terry

Im no expert, but i would use a flashlight to look inside the memory card holder and see if anythings messed up, and maybe jiggle the eject button a bit, and just maybe the button doesnt come up again until you push in the memory card. give it a litt ... Canon EOS 400D / Rebel XTi Digital Camera

This is a recently purchased camera that was working beautifully until recently. It just stopped taking pictures; when the shutter release is pressed, nothing happens. The only clue I have to what is happening came when I pressed the Quick View button and got a No Card message. I changed the CF card to one I took from my Canon Rebel XT and that I knew was working fine - again the message No Card when the QV button was pressed. Does that help at all in defining the problem? Is there the equiv of "focus priority shutter release" Comments: Jan 09, 2010 - by "focus priority shutter release" I mean the ability to instruct NOT to allow shutter release (ie FULL depression of the shutter button" UNTIL focus is achieved and confirmed. I have this feature on all my NIKON and OLY pro and prosumer level cameras as well as my Panasonic GH1 (just got this little beauty and love it). Nikon D80 with a Sigma Lens (80 to 200 I think). In manual mode, often shutter won't release - this was a close up of a hummingbird with a fast shutter speed. Internal light meter showed underexposed, but the background was dark green. Initially, the shutter released, but later would not operate either with a remote, or by manually depressed the shutter release button. Switching back to auto, the camera seemed to work fine, but in this mode could not get the desired shutter speed. In full manual

Everything seems to be working but the shutter release button. It does nothing, even depressing the button halfway for metering shows nothing. no indicators in viewfinder info line. I assumed it was a third party Battery problem, as there was a Impact battery being used primarily at the time. However replacing the Battery with a pentax battery didn't change anything. Camera not dropped, or damaged in any way, its a sudden problem i cannot seem to troubleshoot.
