My Sigma SD9 rapidly drains battery power; and I don't mean over a short period of time, but over a few minutes. Regardless of new or fresh rechargeable batteries, the drainage is frustratingly consistent. Have had the camera quit responding regardless of 3 sets of AA rechargeables, or non-rechargeables with more than 3/4 capacity left installed within 45 minutes of my last attempt to use this camera at a Botanical garden close to where I live. Other than junk it is there a way to solve this

I now find that the time and date have to be entered or just press OK for the camera to operate. Is there a second internal battery for the clock alone. Thank you Richard

Batteries I have a Gateway DC-M40 camera. The batteries drain very fast and the situation keeps on getting worse. Yesterday I loaded a fresh set of batteries & they drained to 25% within hours & I had not taken a single picture & the camera was OFF all trhe time.

Regular alkaline batteries do not last very long in this camera due to the high current demands of the flash. I recommend using either the Energizer lithium batteries or a type labeled specifically for digital cameras. Yes they cost more, but will l ... Gateway DC-M40 Digital Camera

My PowerShot S3IS drains it's batteries while turned off. I first thought my rechargeables had gotten old, so bought new non-rechargeable batteries, took a few pictures, and the next day the camera indicated it needed new batteries.

As you probably have figured, something internally might be draining the batteries. You can try to ohm out the battery terminals to verify this, but it could be a high-resistive short, and not noticeable. You have three choices, basically- keep t ... Canon PowerShot S3 IS Digital Camera

I have a Sony Cybershot DSC-W5 5.1MP - purchased about four and half years ago (ancient in technology years I know) - but it's a good camera and has served me well. Battery Drain Why do the batteries in my Kodak DX4900 almost immediately drain down? It sits on the camera dock almost all the time while it is off. It happened while using the rechargable and now also AA.

My Canon powershot SD20 seems to constantly have a drained battery. I have two batteries for it, and each one seems to be good for about five minutes, then the camera says change the battery pack and it shuts off. After leaving my Sony DSC-T2 camera unused for only a couple of days the battery was flat. I recharged it fully but again it only lasted a day or two. I assumed the battery was dead and I purchased a new Sony NP-BD1 battery and charged it correctly. This new battery is behaving exactly the same as the old one, only holding a charge for a day or two at most. It seems the camera is draining the battery when it is switched off, or maybe the charger is faulty ??? Any ideas?? many thanks - Geoff

Battery drain My 520 has become hypersensitive to "low" batteries. Didn't use to be. Rechargeable or not, I will get 'replace battery' message on batteries that test way in the green on my tester. I have a Canon Powershot A540. It literally eats batteries. I actually bought a second set of rechargable batteries because I thought the first set might be bad. I put in newly charged batteries that I know should be completely charged, take between 2-4 pictures and it will be showing that the battery is already low. My sister has the same camera and the same problem.
