Having problems with your Nikon Coolpix S3000 Digital Camera ?

I just got this camera and I can't figure out how to attach the included usb cable to the camera. Do I just put in in the AV/Out slot, or does this somehow open up to a slot that is a precise fit?

Answers :

The USB cable goes into the connector inside the A/V OUT cover on the bottom of the camera.\012\012\012

You might want to NOT use the USB connection.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Nikon Transfer or any other photo cataloging program.

Also the camera turns itself on by itself about 10 minutes after you put the battery in it and once again you can't turn it off. I got another battery and the same thing happens.
