Screen Hi, My Nikon Coolpix s4 camera does not generate any image on the screen. I last used it 2 months ago. Then i kept it a a safe place and took it out again to find that the screen went completely blank when i start it. Although it displays the previously taken images stored on memory card, displays all menus, zoom works perfectly fine and the flash also works fine.

Get on to Nikon and let them know about it, it is a common problem with the S4. They are fixing the 3500 and others for free. \015\012\015\012 John. ... Nikon Coolpix S4 Digital Camera

Just got a new Nikon D80. I'm used to a Coolpix which has continuous images on the LCD. The D80 appears to present an image only when monitoring the picture and not while using the monitor to compose the shot. I assume this is because it is of the SLR breed. Am I correct?

Yes. Only the most recent DSLRs have a Live View capability. The D80 does not. ... Nikon Digital Cameras

Nikon Coolpix L18 camera LCD screen only shows jumpy lines of images. Took a test picture and viewed through a card reader to find that it is recording images, so the problem is just in the screen. (Also installed fresh batteries.) Camera has been working faithfully on a regular basis. Worked just fine a few days ago. Hasn't been dropped or suffered any 'trauma'.

Hi,\015\012\015\012The fact that the screen is displaying an image even though it is a distorted one of lines in screen indicates that the screen is receiving a signal. This points to a fault with the screen itself and not the camera. ... Digital Cameras

My Nikon D60 monitor is dark...no image preview, however, playback for viewing pictures taken works fine. I use the viewfinder for taking pictures, but wonder if I've done something to turn off the monitor when the camera is turned on.

No, you have done nothing wrong. The D60 does not have the preview function on the monitor like the compact digital cameras. Nikon gave that function a name. It is called 'Live View'. The newr models like the D90 do have that feature. You can rea ... Nikon D60 Digital Camera

It then froze for a minute and when I got it running again it gives me an error message saying "This card cannot be read". I haven't used my Nikon Coolpix E5700 for several years now. I have moved several houses, so something may have caused my camera to stop working. However, I've attempted to turn it on several times and all the monitor shows is a "Lens Error" sign. I've taken out the battery, recharged it, and replaced it yet it still doesn't make a difference. Is there any way I can fix it without bringing it to a shop?

Have Nikon Coolpix 885 dig. camera, bought in 2000, still works OK. I had been transferring the photos to my old computer using "Nikon View" 5 version 5.0.0 software that came with the camera and my Windows XP operating system with no problems. This is my question: Will it be OK to install the original "Nikon View" 5 disk with Windows 7 or is there a newer "Nikon View" software to work with Windows 7 and my old Coolpix 885?
