Having problems with your Nikon COOLPIX S710 Digital Camera ?

Date/time needs to be set every time camera is turned on...! Can't download pictures (tried using Windows wizard and nikon transfer), same result ....

Answers :

In most cases this is an indication of some sort of water/liquid damage on the board.
Or a "memory cap". on the board needs to be replaced
---- This is a problem many Coolpix S710 owners have had and many have had a defective internal battery (it keeps the time and date). To see if yours is defective, fully charge the main battery, put it in the camera and let it set with the power button off for 24 hours. Try to set the time and date and see if it holds. If not, the battery needs to be replaced by a service center or just live with setting the time and date each time. ---- As far as the transfer of pictures, I would first reset all options to factory defaults and see if that clears the problem. If not, another answer would be to use a card reader to transfer your pictures to your PC by just copying them from the removable drive (the card) and pasting them into whatever folder you wish.

I have recently purchased the NX2 software, and as recommended changed the setting on my D70s from JPEG fine to NEF (or Raw). In the past I have downloaded files using either Nikon View software or the Microsoft download wizard. But the Microsoft wizard tells me their are no pictures on the camara, and Nikon View software transfers the first two images then encounters an "unexpected problem", and when I try again it says "an unexpected error occured. Try again. This just repeats. Can you help?

When I connect my camera to my computer, it appears to be empty. I have over 1000 photos on it which show on the camera screen, but the computer sees none. I have even tried downloading the drivers and 'Nikon transfer' package from the disk that came with the box. I am using windows xp. Why does my computer not read the camera? When I open the S52 folder in my computer, there are no files. When I then press 'get pictures from camera' it says that the camera is in use. What am I doing wrong?!

First of all, why on earth would you keep 1000 pics on the memory card? They are not meant for storage....they can be easily corrupted and you could lose your pics. You need to get a card reader and use it to download your pics. Then, format the card ... Nikon COOLPIX S52 Digital Camera
