Nikon D100 lens interface problem

\015 I have a Tokina 80~200 F2.8 ATX lens that dosn't interface with the D100 properly. installing the lens is normal and function is normal for the first shot then I get a FEE error and have to remount the lens to clear the problem. Just turning the camera off and back on gets the FEE again.\015\012I sent the lens back to Tokina for service and it worked fine for about 6 months. I have other Tokina and Nikor lens that work fine on my old 8008S and the D100. with a $100+ repair bill I tought I would ask you all Thanks\015

Answers :

This normally means that you have forgotten to set the lens aperture control to it's minimum aperture (the highest number). On the D100 the aperture control is via a wheel on the camera body instead of via the physical control on the lens aperture ring.

Tokina AT-X PRO 28-80mm 1:2.8 lens has recently developed a problem when mounted on my Nikon D200. The images are way too dark and my only way to obtain usable images is to bracket heavily. This lens has worked flawlessly on film Nikons and, until recently, worked flawlessly on the D200. I am now also having AF problems with the lens. When I attach any of my Nikon brand lenses - no problems. Can you help? I really love this lens.

I have this lens also but with a canon mount and loved it to death when i had film. I started to use it on the digital and like your experience it worked well for a while then started to produce faulty registered photos.. too dark and some too light. ... Digital Cameras

Hi Guys, I am hoping that someone can offer some explaination for the following. I bought a Nikon D7000 in November and it has suddenly started displaying 3 small doughnut shaped marks on my images. I have not removed my Nikon 16-85 lens from the body so I would not have thought that sensor dust was the problem. To eliminate that the problem is on the lens I have now swapped the lens with my telephoto and the problem is still there! I have just sent an email to the company that I purchased from

Don't kid yourself....most cameras come with factory dust already installed!!! Yours just took awhile to deposit on the sensor. Google the words "cleaning a DSLR sensor" and you will find sites showing you in pictures how to clean the sensor and wher ... Digital Cameras

Appreciation CanadaBruce I was browsing the website since I have a Nikon D80. Considering the fact that Nikon sells this as an amateur camera (meaning not a cheap solution), I suspect their Q&A and test wings are probably getting a lot of flak internally for the problems its users experience intermittently. Besides the F-err with 18-135 lens, I have not experienced other problems yet. I hope and pray to whatever powers there be it stays that way. One way I have tried to get around this problem i

Lens error When I turn on Nikon Cool Pix S230, it tries to adjust the lens for a little bit then it says lens error.  It is only a few months old.  I think what caused the problem was the last time I took  a picture there was a strobe light in the background which caused the picture to look funny.  Then a few days later when I tried to work the camera I got this problem.  thank you!

This has nothing to do with the camera, but instead it has to do with the lens you are using. The standard lens you are using has an aperture of f/4.5 which is common across many lenses. If you wish to shoot in low light you need a lower "f-stop". ... Nikon D90 Digital Camera with 18-105mm lens

Nikon D100 Hi. Out of the clear blue my af lens doesn't work. No motor sound. Can use manually. Is there a motor in the lens that needs replacing? I think its only 4 years old (inhered camera). Nikon AF 70-300mm. I don't really have the money to go to camera store without indications of what I need. How costly is the motor? Also there is no light on the internal view box. Can you help? Thanks, Mary Louisville, KY

If the lens is AF (not AF-S) there is no motor in the lens. A motor in the camera turns a screw in the lens mount to focus it. If it is easy to turn it manually, my first recommendation would be to check that you didn't accidentally bump the focus ... Nikon D100 Digital Camera

My Nikon D40 with Nikkor 18-55mm (owned about 15 months) had a puddle of some fluid under it today (lubricant?) I noticed a fluid around the lens when you adjust it. We took the lens off, and reattached it but is says lens is not attached. Do you think this is a camera or a lens problem? We don't have any other lenses to try on it, and if the camera is not going to work, do not want to invest any more money in it.
