Having problems with your Nikon D200 Digital Camera with 18-200mm Lens ?

Very soft focus on D200

\015 Hi.\015\012\015\012I'm having trouble getting sharp images on my D200. I have a Nikkor 24-85 mm lens as well as a Nikkor 28-80mm. The focus is better when used with the 28-80mm lens. I use the exact same lenses on my D100 and the images are very sharp compared to the D200. I also get that I'll be focused on something but when I checkt the picture the focus shifted to the background.\015\012\015\012Could you possibly assist me in fixing this problem. Thanks you\015

\015\012Try this to fix your focusing issue. It's a custom AF setting.
\015\012Press the Menu and select the pencil icon. Then you'll see Custom Setting Menu on the LCD display. Click down to Autofocus and then click to the right.
\015\012There are 3 choices here: FPS Rate, FPS Rate + AF, and Focus.
\015\012Set it to Focus.
\015\012FPS Rate is the default setting, the camera will take 5 frames per second whether it's in focus or not.
\015\012FPS Rate+ AF forces it to slow down hoping to get more frames in focus.
\015\012Focus sets the camera to fire only when in perfect focus. It slows you down some, but it will save you from deleting all the blurry ones.
\015\012
\015\012Try this and let me know if it works for you with a comment.

Lens Problem I have a C-8080 and I like it but I'm not sure if it is working 100%. The lens barrel is sloppy from side to side and clunks slightly when moving it quickly. It has been that way since it was new. It has some issues with auto focus as well. It has a hard time focusing on clouds and soft objects at infinity. I called Olympus when I bought the camera and mentioned the sloppy lens barrel and they told me that that is the way there made. It is slow to focus when going from close objects

The lens play is normal. The focus is not the fastest, which is a shame because the camera powers up instantly! There are techniques to minimize the focus lag if you choose to keep the camera (e.g. hyperfocal; pre-focus w/manual focus lock). Its a gr ... Olympus Camedia C-8080 Wide Zoom Digital Camera

Focus problem Hi all. I have a Canon 300D Rebel camera and I find there is a major problem with the focusing - most pictures come out too soft whether I'm on Auto or Manual. I tried to take a shot of the Vanderbilt baseball stadium, and it came out a little soft and out of focus. I was in Apperture priority at F8 to maximize the depth of field, exposure compensation -2/3EV, metered in the field, and tried to focus on the two guys sitting there in the midfield. Tried one shot AF, the manually tweaking it in OIS mode 2. On screen it looked fine, but on the computer screen not so much so. What could I have done to make it better? How can I set the focus to infinity?

1)The exposure was actually fairly decent. Whatever you metered on wasn't far off.\015\012\015\0122) There was no reason to force the camera all the way up to F8 as in this picture there was no challenge regarding DOF as everything you were shooting ... Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ10 Digital Camera

My d200 is picky about when auto focus works. It won't work for the shot I want, but if I turn the camera 8 degrees and try at that angle, it works fine. Sometimes turning the camera to manual, then off, then on, then back to auto focus does the trick, but not always. What is going on?
