Viewing exposures on file in chip some images are blank with notation "file error". How can I recover Image? The camera is relatively new for me and I do not have much experience asyet. There were a number of exposures on the chip and I was showing them to my wife on our computer. Later when I was reviewing the exposures with a friend a random number of exposures were blank with the note "file error". I have a D300 with a 4gig card. Takes 366 images at 12 megapixels. Using CH mode and taking lots of exposures of a couple of subjects plus single exposures the control panel tells me after a total of 212 exposures I have 250 exposures left. Is this normal? or is there a software problem? John Auckram

Unless I'm mistaken, does the camera take the full 12MP when shooting in CH mode? I don't think so and that would explain why you still have 250 exposures left. ... Digital Cameras

Hi all, I wonder if you can supply some advice regarding a Sigma17-35mm lens I purchased earlier in the year. Basically if I use the automatic or 'P' setting on my Canon EOS 30D camera the image is over exposed by 1 to 2 stops. If I use the same functions with my Canon 18 -55 kit lens the exposure is correct so I would presume the camera is not causing the problem. The only way I can get a correct exposure with the Sigma lens is to compensate manually for each shot. Please note the exposure p

Over exposure The exposure settings on the camera have suddenly become fixed - I can't change them either through fixing shutter speed, OEV, or any other settings. Even tried a factory reset by selecting 'initialize' from the menu, but the problem persists. High or low exposure settings are visible on the viewfinder (i.e. changing the settings shows the picture getting darker or lighter on the screen), but once the picture is shot, it's fixed at an overexposed state.

Exposure problems My CP 5400 is unable to get the correct exposure. It underexposes (even with all possible exposure correction)and the dark parts of the picture get a greenish tinge. The sunlit parts turn purple. It's a strange situation. Any ideas what to do? Is there a way to reload the camera's firmware? Is the firmware available anywhere?

Exposure Control I have an Optio S6 that I accidentally dropped into a building's girder while doing Kite Aerial Photography. From that point on I've gotten very poor exposures. Out at a beach the photos were totally black. There are only some small nicks right above the flash, but my guess it was a pretty good hit. I took it to a Pentax Repair Center but the cost of repair equalled the cost of a new camera. I hate to just throw it out, any suggestions?

This is a mind bender, While doing a shoot using monolights connected to a Nikon D1x I encountered exposure problems. After the lights were metered for the best exposure, I started shooting. "overexposure" The problem arose after I visited a botanical garden and went from cold outside weather to high temperature and humidity conditions. The next day I found that the image through the viewfinder and lens appeared vastly overexposed, nearly all white. If I focused on an object, the exposure would return to normal, but the picture taken was shot through all over with fine white lines, making it indecipherable.
