Nikon D80, how do you turn off the r09, r11 and/or r17 alert (depending which Image Quality setting I have the camera set to)? I have sent the camera back to Nikon twice and twice it has come back with the r-whatever still appearing on the LCD screen once I depress the shutter button.
The r09, r11 or r17 just tells you how many pictures you can shoot before the internal memory buffer is full. It's not an error message, and I don't think there's any way to turn it off. ... Nikon D80 Digital Camera with 18-135mm Lens
Just got a new Nikon D80. I'm used to a Coolpix which has continuous images on the LCD. The D80 appears to present an image only when monitoring the picture and not while using the monitor to compose the shot. I assume this is because it is of the SLR breed. Am I correct?
Yes. Only the most recent DSLRs have a Live View capability. The D80 does not. ... Nikon Digital Cameras
The Monitor on my Nikon D80 does not show any image when I try to take a picture - The viewfinder is ok and the camera takes a picture ok and displays it for about 4 seconds on the monitor after taking it. I can view the Menu's and can View existing pictures ok via the monitor. Is there a way to switch the monitor off or on, tried the menus but cant see anything obvious.

On my Nikon D70s, when I take a picture and see the image previewed briefly on the back LCD, the highlights flash negative image tones(black) in about 1/2 second intervals. This same effect is also present when scrolling thruough and previewing the images on the LCD. Is the LCD going out? Thanks in adavance for any help you can provide.
There is nothing wrong with your camera. What you are seeing are the blown-out highlights. Those are the portions of your image that have been overexposed so completely that they have lost all detail and will show up as pure white. In most cases the ... Nikon D70s Digital Camera

I have just purchased a used Nikon D100. Does the monitor automatically show the image in process or does it only record payback of images

Re: Nikon Coolpix L11 When taking normal daylight pictures (outside), I have much difficulty seeing the image in the monitor. The image is either non existant or very faint. Is it possible that I may have accidentally changed a setting in making adjustments. I was unable to find a reference or a solution in my User's Manual. We use a Nikon D200 to do child portraiture in preschools and day care centers. Our original camera started turning some images blue a couple weeks ago then quit working altogether. I bought a barely used D200 online and went back to work and I am getting images in either magenta or blue. What could cause this?

No, you have done nothing wrong. The D60 does not have the preview function on the monitor like the compact digital cameras. Nikon gave that function a name. It is called 'Live View'. The newr models like the D90 do have that feature. You can rea ... Nikon D60 Digital Camera

I have a Nikon D70 and i am a photographer I shot a customers photos today. I shot the first half of the photos on this compact flash card and downloaded to my computer and then put it back in the camera and formatted the card. Nikon Coolpix S50 has screwey autofocus when I shoot close-up. I select my subject, center it within my frame, depress the shapsot button half-way in order to initiate the autofocus function... The camera then begins to slide between out-of-focus, to in-focus, then keeps on going to out of focus again, and then slides "back" to an out of focus position! I understand that it is "looking" for the sharpest image as it does this--- but what it consistently selects is NOT the sharpest image! Ide
