How do you set camera for backlighting, for example shooting a subject inside with light coming through the window which would make the subject dark but has clear background. I have a Canon A95 digital.

Backlighting settings are generally found on video cameras, not still cameras. The trick is to turn on the cameras flash, forcing it to fire. This will ensure your subject is correctly lit.Matt ... Digital Cameras

Close-up picture Hi! I purchased my camera to take up close-up pictures of handmade greeting cards. The cards are 4" x 5 1/2" with lots of little details. I'd like to show as much detail as possble. I'm not sure what the best setting are? I've tried using the flash, but the whole picture just glares out, the light bounces off of the card and makes a big glare in the center. Without the flash, the picture is too dark. Can you help me figure out the best setting to use? Or, what kind of lighting

My sd700 is auto-metering light incorrectly and the pictures come out too dark. Sometimes simply re-framing/re-focusing the shot will make it work correctly, but not usually. Is it broken? Have I set something incorrectly? Is there a way to re-set the camera back to all its original default settings?

I have the same problem. Sometimes the camera works fine but sometimes it measures the light not correctly, or something like that. I'm not sure if it's only that it needs a cleaning inside, because when the light measuring fails the camera makes a d ... Canon PowerShot SD700 IS Digital ELPH / IXUS 800 Digital Camera

I have an Olympus 8.0 megapixel. Recently as I shoot pictures or videos I notice that if there are lights in the shot, especially brighter ones, the lights refract and make long light trails in the shots, it almost looks like some kind of special effect lens is being used. Is there some setting that I may have changed that has caused this? How do I fix it?

Hi i am using a Nikon N75 to take pictures for my photo class, and the instructor wants us to take low light indoor phtotos at a shutter speed of 1/30 at f2.2. However, when i go to set these settings in manual mode the camera will not let me set my aperture to 2.2 it usually stops at 4 and there is no way i can make it 2.2. i didn't know if there is a limitation on the camera but it seems like i should be able to select what i want.

It's probably a limitation of your lens. You didn't say what lens you're using, but one of the common kit lenses sold with the N75 only goes to f/3.3 at best. If you had a lens that opens up more, the camera will let you use it.The differ ... Nikon Digital Cameras

I have a Samsung SL202 which I purchased because it was pretty much auto setting if I wanted. I liked the dial on the back to tell me what I was shooting. I'm not camera techie. I have tried most settings, different places in the house for light, etc., but they are never clear, the colors are not right, and the picture is too bright making the object look faded. Video sound On my Olympus sp-55ouz ~ i haven't ever found a way to get sound on videos. I read the following suggestion on your website, {{Move the Dial To Video, then after you move the Dial to Video, set the [(Audio Symbol)](movie), turn it to ON. And you are all set! }} but it doesn't make sense to me.. I can turn the dial on top to video, but to WHAT "Audio Symbol/movie " is the poster referring? If you could explain this a little more clearly, I would be most appreciative! Thanks. Suzy

Can you help me with the right settings to take great photos in n school hall for example with bad lighting took some photos but all were so dark even with the flash on please i have a fijifilm s2980

Blue photos Can anyone tell me some reasons why some outdoor shots I took of snow/trees, etc. might look blueish? I took some pictures at sundown that came out fine, and ones I took about 10 minutes later look blue. I don't recall changing any settings. I also took similar shots at the same time with another digital camera and those looked fine. Is this something that's common in low light with a lot of white background? (Or is this a "user problem?")

Snow pictures tend to be blue due to the blue spectrum being scattered and reflected from the snow (similar to why the sky is blue). Plus just after sunset, you're going to get a cooler color temperature (blue cast).\015\012\015\012However, instead o ... Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ10 Digital Camera
