Unable to view photos on camera memory card

\015 I have a memory card in my Nikon D60. I formatted it according to the manual, but when I put it in my HP printer there are no files. The only way I can see pictures is to USB the camera to my computer and then use the Nikon transfer software. Why am I not able to see these jpeg files which are labeled csc_xxxx?\015

Is the camera shooting in RAW mode? If so, the files will not be in JPG format. Perhaps your Nikon download software converts to JPG for you?

\015\012On my canon I can choose to shoot JPG mode, or RAW+JPG - this is the only way the card can be read directly on a PC.

I normally use a small 32mb memory card in the olympus D-390 but used an olympus fe-130 over the holidays with a 256mb memory card.
