D300 long shutter delay
\015 I just opened the D300 box and started to use it. I have a D200 and assumed they worked about the same. The shutter is very slow and delayed, like I am using a slow shutter speed, no matter what setting I use (auto, manual with fast shutter speed, flash) there is a 1-2 second delay. They pictures are clear, but the delay often misses the shot. I wa strying to take pictures of my sons soccer game and it would release the shutter like I was taking a night shot keeping the shutter open for a long time- Is this a setting I have overlooked or a defect in the camera?\015
Just played around with this on my D300S because I'm getting significant delay between pressing the shutter and the shutter / flash actually firing. Answer? Turn off red eye. Red on = delay. Red eye off = instantaneous. FWIW I'm shooting raw @ 14 bit depth

As long as it works, I wouldn't spend too much time worrying about it. In the future, learn to clean the sensor yourself. It's not difficult when you have the proper supplies. Just Google the words "how to clean a DSLR sensor" and you will find sites ... Nikon D300 Body Only Digital Camera
We have Nikon Cool Pix 8800 - we have struggled with the camera from day 1 having a long delay between pushing shutter buttom and photo being taken. It seems recently that the problem has gotten so bad that anything other than a still picture is a frustrating moment. We believe we are shooting on automatic. If there isn't a setting that is wrong we are clearly on our way to selling the camera but we don't even feel good about that the way it currently works. Thanks Lynn

Canon Squeal I recently bought a Canon A1 35mm film camera off eBay. The outside is in amazing condition but the seller did not use the camera for a very long time so it had not been lubricated. I put a new battery in it and pressed the shutter release button and heard a squeal and the shutter was staying open way too long. I'm not experienced enough to trust lubricating it myself and wanted to know if you did this in your store and if you could give me an estimate on how much it would cost. I'm
This is common on the A series Canon cameras. It's a flywheel governor on the side of the mirror box that needs to be lubricated. We do that for $48. Let us know if we can help.\015\012\015\012Crystal Camera Repair\015\012Ashevil ... Digital Cameras

Minolta x-300 I have my father's Minolta X-300. It all seems to work, I fitted new batteries, but there is a delay in the shutter speed. Shutter Lag-Time The shutter lag-time on this camera seems quite long to me. I have read the manual that came with the book as well as a "short course" book on the G6 and this isn't really mentioned. I am wondering if this is a problem unique to my camera or if others have noticed this. In "AUTO" mode it is the worst. Am I missing something, or is this just the way the camera operates?
The G5 has a rather short shutter lag and a rather lengthy focus lag. So if you half depress the shutter release to focus, and then moments later fully depress the shutter release I expect you will find very little lag. But I would not expect a prosu ... Canon PowerShot G6 Digital Camera
