\015 I have a nikon d40 that I got as an easter present, it's been a real hassle. This is the second time it's had a problem, the first time the shutter broke and I had to send it away to be fixed. This time it won't auto focus, it is set on auto on both the lens and camera but it wont focus it just takes the picture and only if there is good lighting. I don't understand why this is happening. If anyone has any tips or suggestions even on how I may fix it please tell me. Also, don't bother telling me to reset my settings because I have already tried that.\015

I have not made any changes to the settings and therefore I am concerned it is a hardware fault. My Nikon D-40x has an auto focus that won't auto focus. Becasue it won't focus, it won't take a picture with the lens set to that mode. One day the camera worked fine. I put it up in the closet for about 5 months while working odd hours. Took it down removed it from the case, charged the battery and it just won't work. It died all on it's own....Replaced the battery, same result.

My Nikon P80 Coolpix started to have problem focusing. Auto focus now only occasionally works (it can sometimes focus and the green "in focus" indicator would come on). Most times, the auto focus does not work (the display and the actual pictures are all blurred). It's not covered by the warranty any more (more than 2 years after we bought it). Any ideas?

Hi, I've just recieved my nikon d90 back from a repair and service, and although everything appears to be working fine, whenever I want to change shooting modes,( auto, P, M, flash off etc), they only work once I have selected them, and then turned the camera off and back on. In other words I cannot be shooting in the Auto mode and then switch to "flash off auto"....all that happens is that the auto focus works but the shutter will not operate. If I switch the camera off and on however, I can t
