Answers :

This is an indication from the camera of "burn out". You have lost all detail in this region of the frame due to the high light levels and the sensor is seeing pure white. This may happen outdoors or when taking a dark subject against a bright background.

I was taking pictures outside using a tripod mounting and had my Fujifilm FinePix S5000 on in photography mode - Auto mode. Upon placing the tripod for a new photo, I observed that the LCD monitor had turned white with intermittent horizontal flashing black lines. The view through the viewfinder is also white but without the black lines. When a photograph is taken the image is white. I should point out that in Playback mode I can view previously taken photographs perfectly on both the moni

Canon A560 camera problem - the images are overexposed. I checked the exposure setting, AWB, and all other settings and they are all normal. There is an exposure setting where I can set to + or - 2, but setting it to -2 does not help much. Outdoor photos are almost completely white. There is some detail in black objects. Indoor photos are overexposed. Flash pictures seem OK. The picture on the display is OK. I compared some macro photos taken a few weeks ago with macro photos now. The good photo

White Screen Upon startup lens emerges but when screen appears it is white whereas it normally displays whatever the lens sees. When the shutter button is pressed the camera will focus and take a white picture which can be deleted. The camera does not flash although flash is set to automatic and photo taken in a dark room. Camera flashes (weakly) with flash set to manual on. Lens is unobstructed and appears to be perfectly normal. Camera was not dropped. Batteries have been changed.

Hi, I have a camera, a Sanyo VPC-T1060 and it's having some problems. It turns on, flashes, takes photos apparently, but the LCD screen won't work. It turns white when I turn it on and when I take a photo with flash black lines appear all in the photo. I've tried finding a reset button, but nothing has been found. As I said, it takes photos, but I need the LCD screen to take a photo so I can see if I messed up and should take more. I'm a photographer and I got this camera as a side kick to my DS

Black photos When I turn on my camera (Nikon Coolpix S5, I believe), I can access old photos and see the symbols that are usually on the screen when it used to take photos. However, if I take a photo with it, it is just black. The camera flashes and acts like it has taken a photo. There is no lens cap, so that is not the problem. Is the camera simply broken?

I recently bought a Canon A590. I've taken perhaps 20 photos on half a dozen occasions and I'm having trouble getting the photos onto my computer (only 2 years old, up to date). I can usually only retrieve about 30% of the photos completely, another 50% "half" the photo with the other portions white, gray or black, then 30% I can't access at all. I'm not sure where to start to fix this problem; at this point I'm ready to return the camera and be done withit!

When i turn my camera on, it seems fine, all buttons functional. When i take a photo, it flashes, but no photo will pop up in my screen. Instead the screen stays black, and then the battery starts to get really warm. then i cant turn it on or off, the only way to get the batter to stop heating up, is to take it out of the camera. i can put the battery back in, turn it on again, but it will say no pictures had been taken, and the problem continues every time i try and use it. Hi. I have had a Samsung S1050 camera for just under 3 years, and have had satisfaction in using the camera and with the picture quality for most of that time, however just within the last few weeks, the quality of photographs taken has gone rapidly downhill, with white-out when using the flash and poor light levels, and when zooming in on any picture that has recently been taken, there are noticeable horizontal lines across it through the entire photo, much like an old 70's tv. When I turn my 550 PowerShot on, I get a blank screen (black for the most part with white camera symbology around the screen, such as the flash symbol, etc). The screen works, as I can click a picture and see the photo momentarily. I can also view my saved pics. When I select the film mode, the screen looks normal.......meaning it displays a color image of what is in the lens. Have I inadvertently selected a mode which is causing this phenomenon?
