Having problems with your Nikon D40 Digital Camera with G-II 18-55mm Lens ?

Don't know what I did, but the monitor on my D40 doesn't display what is captured by the viewfinder. It does display the photo after I snap the shot.

Answers :

You may have accidently set your "Image Review" facility to off, in the camera menu refer to page 75 of the instruction manual. Also look at Custom setting 15  - Auto Off Timers, this is also linked with how long your Image review monitor stays active, refer to page 78 for this.\015\012Cheers\015\012Ian

Long Photo-Taking Hello, I have an S400 with a pretty fast memory card... It seems like its taking a longer time to take a photo than it used to? I dont know If i changed any settings that may be slowing this down. Basicly I turnt he camera on and sometimes I have to hold the capture button down for 3-5seconds before it will actualy snap the photo, Any suggestions??? I'm prety sure it hasnt always been this slow.. I got a new battery etc.. Thanks!

Most cameras take a little longer to capture the photo in darker conditions, with a moving subject, things like that, though if the photos you're taking now are under the same conditions as the ones you used to that shouldn't be the issue. Recently, my Canon Powershot A95 has had an intermittent LCD display problem. While beginning to frame and focus a shot, the image streaks from edge to edge of the screen. If the shutter is snapped, that is the image recorded. The image looks like the subject is rapidly moving, or as though it is a time-lapse photo. Could this be a CCD (chip)issue?

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free worldwide, and may also include free shipping both ways (free shipping varies with countries). This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. ... Canon PowerShot A95 Digital Camera

I took about 30 photos over five days. Everything worked until the last day, when I could only see the last 3 photos I took the last day. All the others have disappeared. I checked my card on my computer when I got home, but same results. I did do some re-organizing of features during that time, but I never deleted anything. I just did some test shots and my camera is working fine, displaying my last shots, but I am worried that I may lose my photos again somehow.

I inserted my old CF (undamaged card) and formatted it and now it seems to take photos BUT nothing shows on my camera viewfinder when I go to take the photos. It shows I have over 3000 photos on my card but they will not display. Help!
