Having problems with your Nikon D40 Digital Camera with G-II 18-55mm Lens ?

My D40 does not shut off properly, and sometimes turns on by itself. It seems to be getting worse, and sometimes I can only get it to turn off by putting the on/off switch in between the two settings. Also, sometimes if the camera gets left on I have trouble taking pictures the next time I go to use it (even if the battery is still charged).

Intermittently, I get a scene in the viewfinder which is just a mass of streaks of various colors. I tried snapping the photo anyway, and that's also what came out as the image. Camera was set on "Auto". Sometimes when I gave up in disgust, the camera would work the next day, sometimes all day, sometimes only for a while. I tried fresh batteries (though I had no low battery warning) and also tried reseating the memory sD card, all to no effect. This is an S7000, about 7-8 years old, with no pri

I was taking photos over the weekend with my Olympus E-500 and the eyepiece viewfinder got darker than usual. I was using a promaster 5750DX flash. Even without the flash, the eyepiece viewfinder has remained dark. Flash Error Hi there, bought this camera about 6 months ago. I'm intermittently getting a problem with the pop-up flash. It pops up fine, but the screen gives me an error telling me it hasn't and won't take any shots. Have to keep switching it off and on and hoping it will work again.
