Having problems with your Nikon D40 Digital Camera with G-II 18-55mm Lens ?
Lens not attached
\015 I juste get my brand new Nikon D40x and I fixed my lens and I have a ''LENS NOT ATTACHED'' problem. May I clean my lens? Do I have to ship my lens to the store? Is that a body problem? Please help me\015
Is there a piece of tape across the lens contacts, like the film over a print cartridge head? I would think that is the only communication between the lens and the body.

My Nikon D40 with Nikkor 18-55mm (owned about 15 months) had a puddle of some fluid under it today (lubricant?) I noticed a fluid around the lens when you adjust it.
