Black flashing in bright areas of image when viewing
\015 I am having the same problem with the black flashing in the highlighted areas of my pictures. My battery is fully charged. I see that with the first magnefication the flashing does stop, but is there a way to stop it all together and do you know what caused it to start in the first place. I have had the camera over a year and this just started recently.\015

If you use the up/down button to scroll through the display options (file info, shutter speed, filename...etc) will take you to the view where the highlights are shadowed or whited out. One of the views has no data or highlighting. Just leave the view there.

The image that shows up on the camera when I review them, has black flashing areas. For example if the area I photographed had a lot of white - it shows up as a flashing black section. What is this? I was taking pictures outside using a tripod mounting and had my Fujifilm FinePix S5000 on in photography mode - Auto mode. Blurry area on photos taken with Olympus Stylus 770 SW. Does not matter if taken with flash or not, indoors or out. Blurred area is about the size of a US 25 cent piece when viewed in Picasa, usually in the same area on all photos on the right side. Details of image can be seen thru the blurred area.
Have a look at the lens, is there something stuck to it or dirty. If so needs cleaning. I'd try a damp cotton bud. Don't get water in the camera. Use several buds if required. Be Gentle. ... Olympus Stylus 770 SW Digital Camera
D40X Upon switching modes to review photos that have been shot, I can retrieve the images, but after a second or two they each start flashing part of the image (this part appears to be the lighter areas of the picture). How can I turn this off and go back to viewing the image "regularly"?

A85 Dead During a normal session, switching from picture-taking mode to view mode, the lens would not retract and the picture in the view froze with the current image. I could not turn off the camera. After a while, the batteries got very hot, so I removed them. I took out the CF card. Later, I replaced the batteries and the put the card back in. The camera worked very briefly, but the LCD view would not work, displaying flashing lines on a black background. New batteries didn't help. The camera

When I turn my 550 PowerShot on, I get a blank screen (black for the most part with white camera symbology around the screen, such as the flash symbol, etc). The screen works, as I can click a picture and see the photo momentarily. I can also view my saved pics. When I select the film mode, the screen looks normal.......meaning it displays a color image of what is in the lens. Have I inadvertently selected a mode which is causing this phenomenon?

The flash is either far too bright or not bright enough even when using the auto setting. The flash either doesn't flash at all on "soft flash" and then blinds people when the flash is turned on so it produces very dark faces or bright white images.
