My S500 is now 7 years old and always functioned very well. Recently it no longer switched on even though batteries fully charged. Tried again a couple of weeks ago and it worked perfectly, a few days later no good again; then today switched on OK and working. Obviously I have an intemittent problem. Local camera repair quoted GBP 110 to repair but I can buy up to date replacement model for about GBP 125 which I may do. However I'd still like to repair my S5000. Have you any suggestions please

Hello, I purchased a finepix s5700 about 18 months ago. It has worked perfectly until the last few weeks. I can turn the camera on if I hold the playback button and switch on the power, and can scroll through everything in the memory, but when I press the shutter to take a photo, the camera switches itself off. If I press the power by itself the green light comes on for a millisecond, then switches off. It has not been wet, dropped or otherwise. I had it on the shelf one day working fine, the ne

Camera lens movement mechanism seems to be damaged, as when switched on, the camera lens does not extend out completely and the object appears blurred on the screen. Similarly when switched off, the lens does not retract back completely and it needs a manual push to put it in a little more. But even then it does not go in fully. Rest of the functions are working well. The damage is the result of an accidental body weight going on the camera, when it was in on condition.

I rec'd a The Sharper Image digital photo album with keychain as a gift two years ago. I have installed the 55 pictures from my pc to the unit. This unit will only work if I keep the unit plugged into my pc or a wall adapter. It does not respond to clicking the on and off switch. No light comes on green or red, but it is always green when plugged in. I think the unit does not have a battery in it as it should. If the battery is dead, it wasn't even used. When plugged in the unit shows

I have a sony HDR-HC1e camcorder. It works perfectly until I change the battery or switch between mains and battery, it then refuses to start. Not even a hard reset will start it. Leaving it with no power for a hour results in it restarting correctly when battery reinserted although sometimes loses clock setting. I've checked the internal cell and it reads about 3V.

I bought Benq c1030 Eco three months ago. At the very beginning it was doing the job perfectly. Suddenly, some problems occurred. Actually, I can't always switch it on. Thank you in advance

Sony Cybershot DSC-W200 digital camera. Suddenly and for no apparent reason it can no longer be switched on. Blank screen, no lens movement, no sound, totally dead. I substituted a spare, fully charged battery, but still no response. Until now it has always worked perfectly. I just wondered whether there is something else I might try before discarding it? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Kind Regards Peter Ollis

When I switch the camera on the screen stays blank even though the lens comes out, it eventually goes off (with the lens still out after about 40 seconds). I can get the camera to work if I press the green "view" key and then, after the picture appears, press the red camera icon and it will go into auto shoot mode. Happens every time now. I can't take it in under warranty as it was a present and I don't have the receipt unfortunately.

My Canon S3 IS compact has a viewfinder problem. Upon switching on it always shows the "settings" icons around the viewfinder but the image is not there. I have to turn the camera on and off about 6 to 10 times. The viewfinder image starts to appear dim and blurred. Finally it starts to work OK. It is 2years old and taken about 1000 images.
It sounds like the camera either has a connection for the image that isn't the greatest or the control board needs some work. You could try removing the outer panel and taking a blow dryer to the internal parts but don't let it get too warm and see i ... Digital Cameras
I have a Canon XM3 camcorder. It has given me many years of good service. Recently it has developed a fault. Hi, I've just recieved my nikon d90 back from a repair and service, and although everything appears to be working fine, whenever I want to change shooting modes,( auto, P, M, flash off etc), they only work once I have selected them, and then turned the camera off and back on. In other words I cannot be shooting in the Auto mode and then switch to "flash off auto"....all that happens is that the auto focus works but the shutter will not operate. If I switch the camera off and on however, I can t

Hi, I have a Canon T2i Rebel. When i put the camera in "M" (totally manual), the image doesnt appear in the LCD screen. I have a Canon EOS 1000D, and I've had it for almost 4 years. Recently i started having problems with both my lenses. Autofocus works but through the everything appears blurry when "focuses" and thus I can't use manual focus anymore. I last used my camera about a week ago with no problems. Now, I can't even turn it on. I have not even touched it since, so I'm not sure why it will not work. I can't seem to get my autofocus to work on my new Canon T1. The mode dial is switched to full auto, the fous mode switch is on AF, and the Image Stabilizer switch is in the "on" position.
