Having problems with your Nikon D40x Digital Camera ?

It seems like the SD isn't being caught into the SD slot. I place in the SD card and have tried others, but the card will not stay.

Answers :

Well if you already realize this I apologize, but you may not realize\015\012that the SD slot has a built in ejector. The way you make the card\015\012eject is to push it further into the slot, and then it pops out.
\015\012
\015\012It works like a mechanical pencil.
\015\012
\015\012So if that got pushed to the eject position, and you then just put the\015\012card in, put not enough to switch it out of the eject position, it\015\012could pop right back out.
\015\012
\015\012So try pushing it far in and see if it clicks into place.

If you have tried this and the same thing has happened, it could be a faulty card catch that needs to be repaired. Some cards have a funny shape that just don't fit right, If you can't get the camera fixed right now, you can:
1.) put some scotch-tape around the SD Card to make it fit into the slight a little tighter.
\015\012
\015\0122.) file down the end of the SD Card so its flush with the phone.

I just removed the SD card to view some pictures and now when I put it back in it will not latch and stay down. I have tried two other cards as well and none will latch and stay down. They do not seem to go down as far as I am used to seeing them, like something is in the slot but with a light and magnifying glass I do not see anything in the way. Any ideas? TX DW
