Having problems with your Nikon D40x Digital Camera ?

My Nikon d40x is roughly three years old and the lens has had to have been repaired twice due to it being dropped. Lens is working fine though now. Yesterday i was getting out my car and the camera fell out my bag, the lens still works fine but now the camera is refusing to take more than 1 photo and saying "card is full". Tried my brothers memory card in it and its doing the same although his memory card works fine with his camera (nikon d60). Someone help!

Time for some "tough love"...suggest you buy one of the new Pentax point-and-shoots that are especially made for people who continually drop their cameras. This one can be dropped from 3 feet and still work. Leave the good DSLRs to the rest of us.

My 4GB Gigaware SDHC memory card won't work on my camera. It used to work but then I tried it recently then the camera just takes out the lens and freezes. My other memory card works so it has to be the memory card. Can I do anything to fix it? If I can keep the photos in it I would prefer that but if it needs to be erased it is fine. I tried to access and format it on my computer but neither works. I can't access it at all.

Memory Card Locked The card works fine in my other Canon Camera, but not in my A620. I've switched out the cards and nothing works in my A620, but they all work in my other Canon. Memory Card Locked is all I get in the 620 and nothing works on camera. Lens comes out and the LCD screen lights up, but that is it. Any help would be appreciated. Jeff

My Lumix DMC FZ30 use to work using a 4gb SDHC SanDisk card, but now says, "Memory card error please check the card". However, the card works fine in any other cameras. A small pocket Fujifilm camera for example. I was told to reformat the card in the camera, but I'm unable to use any part of the FZ30 camera while the card is inserted and on. Please help as I want to use my 4gb card and not just the 2gb ones which work fine so I know it's not a problem with the camera reading memory cards, just

Memory card Our old memory card stopped working in the camera. It said "memory card error". I bought a new card, 8gb duracell sdhc card, and when I put it in it said"memory card error" again. I tried formatting the card but it would not allow me to. I put the card in my computer and the new one works fine. I gave the old card to my brother in law to look at it, but he is on vacation, so I can't test it in my computer. I put the card that came with the camera in and it works fine, but it is a mmc

Unfortunately, the A520 does not support SD memory cards with more than 2GB capacity, and doesn't support SDHC at all. (1GB max for MMC cards.) I know memory is much cheaper than when the camera first came out, but in 2005 2GB was about as large as y ... Canon PowerShot A520 Digital Camera

Lens Error I purchased a Nikon P90 a month ago; and it was working just fine. A couple of days ago during a photo shoot (after taking 190+ photos without any trouble), the camera went crazy.. It shows a lens error when turned on; asks to 'remove the lens cap' even if it is already removed. The lens starts to zoom out & in for a couple of times; then this error message comes up and just hangs. Tried removing the card, battery and even tried re-charging the cell. I purchased it from UK, and I'm n

Dropped my camera in a pool of water in a glacier 12 months ago. I immediately took out the battery and memory card. I then spent 2 hours with a hair dryer drying the camera. Since then the camera has worked fine. This week end I "lost" the lens. I can review photo's on the screen but I get nothing in camera mode. Is it a lost cause or can it be saved?

There is no relation between the two incidents that you explained. The recent problem might have occurred due to damaging of the lens. I swapped memory cards with my daughter as mine had a bigger memory. However it didn't seem to work properly in her camera. Her camera now freezes on the opening screen when its switched on and does nothing else, the lens also refuses to go back in. I put the card back in my camera and now mine just switches off when you turn it on after making 3 blip noises! Now both cameras don't work with or without the memory card. I've checked the manual for mine which has no explainations. Also checked bat

I tried reformatting the memory card, but the camera refuses to do it. What happened? I assume I need a new memory card, but I'm afraid that the problem will occur again.
