Having problems with your Nikon D40x Digital Camera ?

Hi. Last time I went to used my camera the screen showed a message saying the memory card was damaged. When I tok it out I saw that it was slightly damaged on the bottom strip. I have replaced it with another memory card but the same message keeps coming up so I cannot take any photos. The message says: "This memory card cannot be used. Card may be damaged. Insert another card." Any suggestions how I can reset the camera before I pay to put it in for a service?

Answers :

It is possible that there are bits of the damaged pieces struck inside the card reader contacts in the camera.
\012So if you can remove the battery and memory card and tap upside down ,you might be able to retrieve the broken pieces.
\012use a fine jett of air to spill out the dirt and try. if not repeat the procedure.
\012If there is still the issue you may have to open to get access to the slot to clean or rectify a damaged contact.
