Having problems with your Nikon D40x Digital Camera ?

Dropped my Nikon D40x, Pictures dark, won't let me go into manual settings.

\015 I recently dropped my Nikon D40X from a fairly good height, nothing is damaged from my understanding, the lens is intact, shutter is perfectly fine, but I realized afterwards every single one of my photo's that I try to take, turns out EXTREMELY dark! I read some articles and it said to reset the camera settings, well when I do it, it dosen't really affect anything, and I try to go into manual mode to change the aperture and the shutter, and it won't let me change anything, it stays in auto. Does anybody know a solution, or solution(s) that I can try to fix my camera by myself? Or would I have to take it in to get looked at?\015

Hey

\015\012came across this after i had just recieved my camera back from Nikon getting fixed. I had the same problem. They replaced my aperature control unit and now my camera works wonderfully again.
You will need to send it to Nikon to get the camera checked out - there is nothing user-serviceable that you can do.\015\012
\015\012Basically, you have broken it. Take more care with your expensive toys... use the strap, buy a silicone jacket, etc.

Hi i am using a Nikon N75 to take pictures for my photo class, and the instructor wants us to take low light indoor phtotos at a shutter speed of 1/30 at f2.2. However, when i go to set these settings in manual mode the camera will not let me set my aperture to 2.2 it usually stops at 4 and there is no way i can make it 2.2. i didn't know if there is a limitation on the camera but it seems like i should be able to select what i want.

It's probably a limitation of your lens. You didn't say what lens you're using, but one of the common kit lenses sold with the N75 only goes to f/3.3 at best. If you had a lens that opens up more, the camera will let you use it.The differ ... Nikon Digital Cameras

White Screen Upon startup lens emerges but when screen appears it is white whereas it normally displays whatever the lens sees. When the shutter button is pressed the camera will focus and take a white picture which can be deleted. The camera does not flash although flash is set to automatic and photo taken in a dark room. Camera flashes (weakly) with flash set to manual on. Lens is unobstructed and appears to be perfectly normal. Camera was not dropped. Batteries have been changed.

Hi, my Nikon D200 has a blank screen. If I go to the menu, it shows the menu just fine, but if I want to take a picture it is black. I tried taking a couple of shots, and they are all dark with a small amount of definition just to where I can see what I am photographing. Is there some setting that has been messed up? I can't figure this out from the manual. Thanks!

Continuous shooting I'm new to this so bare with me. I just got my Nikon D60 and I want to shoot pictures in continuous mode. I set it on manual, go into the menu and change it to continuous. I rotate the dial so it changes the shutter speed but when I take pictures it's just a black screen. As a matter of fact any time I try to take a picture in M it's just black. I'm hoping that there is just a setting I need to change and there's not something wrong with my camera. Thanks.

Hey man. Im not sure how new you are but basically i think your problem is you need to decrease the shutter speed to around 1/200-1/250 of a second and increase the apeture to around f10/12 and see if that works. If your operating at a high shutter s ... Nikon D60 Digital Camera with 18-55mm lens

We just purchased a Nikon Coolpix L18, 8.0 Megapixel camera. We understand how we can resize the picture, after we take the picture to 160 x 120 (e-mail), page 45. What we do not understand or can not see in the user manual is to be able to set the camera to the 160 x 120 BEFORE any of the pictures are taken and to have the 160 x 120 remain as a standard.
