Having problems with your Nikon D40x Digital Camera ?

Nikon d40x Hi my nikon is acting very weird ... my flash is going off but every second or third picture is either over exposed or under exposed very dark .. is my flash about to die ?? My camera is a year and a couple weeks old so Im not even sure if I have warenty. Does any know how much something like this will cost? and how long it takes to get repaired?

Answers :

It sounds like your flash capacitor isn't fully charged up and your taking a photo and there isn't enough power charged up, so your photos turn out too dark. Take a photo, wait for a minute or til you see the flash icon inside the viewfinder lit up and then try taking another photo.

I have a Nikon d40X. When I attempt to take a picture, the shutter speed is EXTREMELY slow. Because of this, my pics are all blurry. I am not sure what caused this to start happening. Can someone please tell me what is going on?? Also, I am not sure if the flash is working properly either. I feel that this may contribute to the problem as well. Please help!! Steve

I found a Quantaray 55-52 mm step down ring (Manufacture # 241664614) on Wolf Camera's website that I am interested in purchasing, but want to make sure it would work for me. I have some close up lenses (Hoya) for my old Canon SLR film camera (55mm) and was hoping I could use those lenses on my newer Nikon DSLR (52mm) camera. Would the step down ring make it possible to attach and use my old camera's close up lenses on my new DSLR camera? Thanks, Jerry

No. The 55-52mm step-down ring will let you attach a 52mm attachment onto a lens with a 55mm thread. You want a 52-55mm step-up ring. ... Digital Cameras

My Nikon D70 DSLR was fine when last used but after around three weeks when brought out to use again, the LED which signifies writing to the card is flashing - whether the power is on or off. Removing the CF card and reinserting it makes no difference. While this light is flashing the camera will not switch on or show any information in the LCD. It is about three years old and has been faultless until now. Any suggestions?

Nikon D50, digital SLR, I was using my camera at a wedding and the flash just stopped working. The camera thinks the flash is going off - it pops up and takes them quickly but no light goes off.... do these cameras have traditional 'bulbs' could it be as simple as the bulb has blown and it needs a new one? or am i looking at something bigger than that? I am normally an old school film camera person - i dont know much about this at all... thanks kathleen

I have a Nikon Coolpix L110 and the pictures have a yellow tint when taken inside. I've noticed the yellow tint varies when I point the camera to different areas in the room. I've never had an issue like this with other cameras so I'm not sure what is causing this. I read the manual and there was really nothing to address this issue. Okay this may be stupid question but; Do you think raising the flash will get rid of the yellow? Thanks Marie Steel

Hi, My daughter (12 years old) saved her money and bought a Nikon Coolpix L11 camera (SN# 34031249)from Target 8 months ago. She dropped it resulting in the following: - A silver round lens front came off (we have it) - A black lens ring with hole came off (we have it) - The interior lens extension looks tilted. - The screen says "lens error" She said it worked some at first, but had a line across it (I'm not sure if she meant the viewer or the picture) Target wouldnt ta

The buttons on my 4 month old Nikon S8000 don't work. I can take a photo but can't zoom in, I can't view the photos, can't record a video, can't turn on the flash (or any of the other setting on the rotating wheel), can't go to menu, scene selector or delete a photo (which doesn't matter as I can't view the photos anyway!). The shop I bought it from is 130 miles away as I've moved away and no other camera shops are near here, so if possible I'd like to solve this without having it sent away! Tha

I have a Nikon D80 camera that is about 1 year old. I has worked fine until about 6 months ago. Sometimes when I turn it on and press the button to take the picture nothing happens. I have to wait awhile and keep playing with the button and then it will finally take the picture and act normal. This happens inside and out. Sometimes the flash will pop up outside in direct sunlight. Do I have some settings wrong or why is it acting like this?

Are you getting a Err message? If so The ERR message is not a good thing. Read page 132 of the D80 Manual. Also, try a factory reset found on page 129 of the manual. On the left side of the camera is the terminal cover, inside below the USB connector ... Nikon D80 Digital Camera with 18-135mm Lens

Black photos When I turn on my camera (Nikon Coolpix S5, I believe), I can access old photos and see the symbols that are usually on the screen when it used to take photos. However, if I take a photo with it, it is just black. The camera flashes and acts like it has taken a photo. There is no lens cap, so that is not the problem. Is the camera simply broken?

This is unfortunately one ccd fault...you must change the ccd of the camera. it s possible to find the entire lens block in international seller for many types of camera...search if you can find your lens to a good price and prove to change it alone ... Digital Cameras
