Dead Nikon D50 in mint condition... Changed lenses with the power off. Powered back on and no LCD, or any actions at all. Flash will not pop up, no shutter noise, no auto focus. No top menu, no back menu. Did the double green button reset and the hard (hole in the bottom of the camera) resets while both on and off, with and without batteries, with and without SD card and every combination. Tried different lenses, also without a lens. Tried with two additional Nikon brand, fully charged batteries

Focus problem My grandson just received a new Nikon camera for Christmas. He assembled the wide angle lens prior to doing any other set up. Now he can't focus it without the wide angle lens in place. The camera has auto-focus. Can you advise a fix? We tried the Reset button on the side ,but this didn't fix it. Thanks

The factory presets would not have been affected by your grandson doing as you describe. Depending on what other lenses he might be trying to use, many have a separate switch located on the barrel of the lens to turn auto focus on or off. ... Nikon D40x Digital Camera

My D80 suddenly stopped taking photos while I was in Auto mode. I noticed the flash stopped releasing. I've changed lenses, reset the camera's green buttons, switched out the card, reset the clock. It will occasionally take a photo, not necessarily in focus, and the flash will on occasion pop, but I can't figure out what the correct triggers are. Can anyone help? Lens is 18-135mm. Set Lens in in "A" and camera is in "AF"mode. Thanks much.

Hi, Also, try a factory reset found on page 129 of the manual. On the left side of the camera is the terminal cover, inside below the USB connector is the reset switch. If that does not work call Nikon digital 1-800-645-6689. ... Nikon D80 Digital Camera with 18-135mm Lens

I have a Nikon D40X camera with two lenses - one is 18-55 and the other is 55-200. Unfortunately, when I was at a wedding rehearsal, my 55-200 lens dropped off the pew on to the ground. It was not on the camera at the time and it has not worked properly ever since. My camera works properly with the 18-55 lens. Is there anything that can be done to fix it? Essentially, the camera can still focus, in and out, but when I try and push the button down, to take a picture, it just continues to refocus

It is broken - either you wear the cost and replace it, or send it to a lens specialist and have it reset. Without seeing it, it is impossible to ascertain the condition. My Vivitar Series 1 24-70 manual focus ais lens won't work on program in my Nikon FA. I bought both new, but have stored them for a long time. It works on aperture priority, shutter priority, and manual, just not in program. All my other lenses do, including other Vivitar lenses, so it must be the lens. Fresh batteries in the camera. I get the FEE message, which means the lens is not set on the smallest aperture, but it IS set on the smallest aperture. I have tried dismounting and remounti

You are correct - the lense should work with the Nikon FA!\015\012It sounds like there is a communication problem, and the lense is in need of repair.\015\012Your local camera shop should be able to take care of it. The repair should be l ... Digital Cameras

I used different lenses and reset the camera setting to the factory original, but no help. Thank you for solving the problem... Hamid Jakarta, Indonesia

This has nothing to do with the camera, but instead it has to do with the lens you are using. The standard lens you are using has an aperture of f/4.5 which is common across many lenses. If you wish to shoot in low light you need a lower "f-stop". ... Nikon D90 Digital Camera with 18-105mm lens

I have Nikon D50 (11 months old) with two NIKON lenses - 18-55 (came with camera) and 70-300 (from my old Nikon F65). I have recently noted a spot appear in certain shots (mainly where sky is present) that is there in the same place whichever lens I use. Could this be a dust speck or similar on the CCD? If so, is there an easy way of cleaning the sensor? Regards Roland Zilz UK
