Nikon D60 transfer problem

\015 D60--same problem...did anyone ever find a solution to the problem of the D60 icon showing up for a second then disappearing?\015

Answers :

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Nikon Transfer or any other photo cataloging program.

I have a D60 which is great. My problem is with Nikon Transfer and Nikon NX. They don't seem to give you enough assistance. Sid

Camera: Nikon Coolpix E4600 Have tried to transfer images from my Coolpix camera to my computer. Once connected to USB cord, the camera is recognized by the computer except the file transfering programs (Nikon Transfer and PictureProject) don't recognize any files to transfer. Is it a problem with the cord itself? I've put the memory card which has the pictures into my laptop and transfered them successfully that way, which is why it leads me to believe the cord is the issue.

I have had a Nikon CoolPix L110 for 10 months. I've never encountered a problem transferring pictures from my camera to my computer during this time...until now. When I connect my camera using the USB cable, Nikon Transfer opens as usual, but nothing happens after that. The source is not showing the camera. The camera works fine. I can view and take pictures. Have Nikon Coolpix 885 dig. camera, bought in 2000, still works OK. I had been transferring the photos to my old computer using "Nikon View" 5 version 5.0.0 software that came with the camera and my Windows XP operating system with no problems. I now have a new computer using Windows 7. This is my question: Will it be OK to install the original "Nikon View" 5 disk with Windows 7 or is there a newer "Nikon View" software to work with Windows 7 and my old Coolpix 885?
