Having problems with your Nikon D60 Digital Camera ?

I dropped into a lake and have let it dry out for 2 weeks..worth repairing?

Hello. My recommendation is that you contact NIkon and send the camera in for an estimate. Then you can decide on what to do. Here is a link to the Nikon contact page http://www.nikonusa.com/Service-And-Support/Service-And-Repair.page\015\012

It may or may nor be worth your while or your $$ to fix, but take it to a local camera shop (NOT the camera department in a chain store) and get an estimate. The cost of repair may approach the cost of a new camera, but if you have a bunch of accessories it may be worth the repair. The camera shop may also offer you a trade-in on a new camera.

My husband dropped my sony dsc-H10 in the river for a very quick swim. We let the camera dry out and it actually works great now, except for the flash. I can turn the flash on and it will click like the flash is working during a picture but it never lights up. I am wondering if there is an easy way to replace the flash or should i try to send it in for repair.

To remove and replace the flash unit is complicated and fraut with the unexpected. I would suggest that you take it for repair. Also this is not an underwater camera, so after a while expect problems from corrosion. If it was dried in a bowl of rice ... Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W120 Digital Camera

My Sony Cybershot Camera was dropped in water accidentally the other day. I have let it dry out as much as possible for 2 days. When I tried to use it, the camera still takes pics as it did before but it keeps saying "insert memory card" Anything more I can do? Is it worth trying it on with Sony as it's only 4 months old. Only thing is that I know that water damage is not normally covered. If they see water damage, will they bill me for the repair?

Kodak DX7590.. accidentally dropped it in a waterfall.. it was under water for only a few seconds.. I took everything out (battery, memory card, etc etc) and let it dry out before trying again. Now it will come on, start up and act as if it is okay, but then immediately shut back down. Should I just ditch it and buy another (don't really want to do that because I love this camera...), or ???.. Any suggestions would be most helpful!

My Panisonic Lumix was dropped in the lake in its case last summer. I dried it out and it still works great. The only thing is now when I take photos of things that are dark like night time photos or a room painted a dark color small spots show up. I am assuming that those are water spots on the lense. What is the best way o fix this problem? Thanks.

If these spots are in different places on each picture, then they are actually reflections of dust particles in the air from the flash being so close to the lens. If they are in the same place on each picture, then they are indeed water spots on the ... Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3 Digital Camera

Hello, I own a Fugi Finepix F100 camera. Last week my dog was pulling on his leash trying to get to a gaggle of ducks and caused me to drop my camera down into snow. I tried to dry it off and in doing so might have damaged the retractable lens cover. Now it is not reliable in opening all the way, I usually need to help slide it back so that the lens is fully exposed. I really don't want to have an expensive repair unless necessary...what do you advise? Thank you! Linda

Kodak C875 digital camera, dirt inside lens problem. Is is possible for me to disassemble and clean the lens? Or is this something an expert should do? Exposure Control I have an Optio S6 that I accidentally dropped into a building's girder while doing Kite Aerial Photography. From that point on I've gotten very poor exposures. Out at a beach the photos were totally black. There are only some small nicks right above the flash, but my guess it was a pretty good hit. I took it to a Pentax Repair Center but the cost of repair equalled the cost of a new camera. I hate to just throw it out, any suggestions?

Today my 5 yr old dropped our S1050 Samsung camera about 3 feet onto a wooden bridge and now the camera DOES turn on and WILL let me review the pictures I had taken up until that point. However, when attempting to take a picture the picture is out of focus and when I zoom IN it gets clearer but then the camera beeps 2 times and shuts off and closes up. It will let me snap an out of focus picture though. Is there any hope? This camera was expensiveand we've only had it a year. Thanks

I've had the 5700 since 2003, which at the the time I paid $1200 for it. E-Bay is now selling for a bid of $85. At any rate, I cannot manipulate the menu to make any settings. I have a flashing update icon for date & time, but cannot set. Also, the zoom control is unresponsive. I have no idea where to get an estimate for a repair & let's face it, the repair would probably cost more then what I can purcahse a new digital SLR camera for with more features than what I paid for the 5700.
