Having problems with your Nikon D60 Digital Camera ?

Pictures being viewed are flashing in some areas of the photo

Answers :

You're seeing blown-out highlights. Those are the areas of your pictures that have lost all detail by going pure white. In general this is considered a bad thing. The correct fix is to reduce the exposure to bring back the details. This may lose details in the shadows, but that is generally preferrable to losing details in the highlights. After all, we expect not to be able to see things in the dark. Of course, this is only a warning; the camera doesn't know what kind of effects you're trying for.

That was the long answer. The short answer is: press up/down on the multiselector to cycle through the different views of your picture.

D40X Upon switching modes to review photos that have been shot, I can retrieve the images, but after a second or two they each start flashing part of the image (this part appears to be the lighter areas of the picture). How can I turn this off and go back to viewing the image "regularly"?

My daughter has an olypus FE 115 but unable to find the manual. I have downloaded some recent photo's to a flash drive for her, but when she tries to now view the photo's from the camera it says picture error, I did not delete the photo's from the camera. When I connect to my computer and view what is on the card reader they are still there, so why can she not view them direct from the camera now and what does the error message mean?

Blurry area on photos taken with Olympus Stylus 770 SW. Does not matter if taken with flash or not, indoors or out. Blurred area is about the size of a US 25 cent piece when viewed in Picasa, usually in the same area on all photos on the right side. Details of image can be seen thru the blurred area.

Have a look at the lens, is there something stuck to it or dirty. If so needs cleaning. I'd try a damp cotton bud. Don't get water in the camera. Use several buds if required. Be Gentle. ... Olympus Stylus 770 SW Digital Camera

I cannot see anything when in camera, film, or view mode. When I snap a photo, it sounds like a picture was taken and the flash still goes off, but nothing is displayed on the screen. Only when I attempted to upload my photos onto my PC was I able to see that my camera was in fact still taking pictures!

Overexposed photos?? when i hit my shutter release button, sometimes the flash doesn't pop up and the view finder goes black. (it's like the camera is taking a picture but when I release my finger from the shutter release button it doesn't release) The only way to "get out of it" is to turn the camera off then back on. when i go to playback...it is a white picture. are my settings messed up and how do i avoid this in the future. Many picture moments are missed because of this!

The view finder "going black" on an SLR is caused by the mirror being up, which is also when the camera is actually taking the picture! The mirror sends the light from the lens to either the viewfinder or the sensor. When it's down, the light goes ... Nikon D80 Digital Camera with 18-135mm Lens

When I try to view my pictures on the LCD screen, the white area of the picture flashes. Last week on vacation, it would intermitenly stop taking pictures. I would have to set the lens and camera to manual to get the shot. I recently bought a 2X converter and thought this might be the problem. Removing the converter did not fix this.

I was taking pictures outside using a tripod mounting and had my Fujifilm FinePix S5000 on in photography mode - Auto mode. Upon placing the tripod for a new photo, I observed that the LCD monitor had turned white with intermittent horizontal flashing black lines. I should point out that in Playback mode I can view previously taken photographs perfectly on both the moni

Nikon D80. It worked fine until recently (maybe after I took pictures during whale-watching in a heavy rain and camera got wet). Now the view in the viewfinder is kind of greyish and blurry. Focus area brackets in the viewfinder are now always visible and white. And when I half-press the shutter button the whole viewfinder flashes in red color. Basically, the camera still works and takes pictures, but it is hard to see through the viewfinder and it behaves very strangely.

"lens error" when i turn the camera on to shoot photos, the display says "lens error".   It sounds as if the lens mechanism is trying to open, but it doesn't move.   Lights keep flashing.  I am able to view pictures I have already taken, but not able to take pictures. Blank lcd I just got a new canon 600D. After playing with it for a while, i turned it off. Then after 5-10 mins i turned it on once again, and opened the lcd screen, but it shows blank(or say black). I can see that the lcd backlit is workeing, but nothing (no content) is displayed. Can this be an issue of low battery ? pressing the shutter button full also not capturing the picture. Flash works though, and optical view finder too, but it does not capture the photo.

When I turn my 550 PowerShot on, I get a blank screen (black for the most part with white camera symbology around the screen, such as the flash symbol, etc). The screen works, as I can click a picture and see the photo momentarily. I can also view my saved pics. When I select the film mode, the screen looks normal.......meaning it displays a color image of what is in the lens. Have I inadvertently selected a mode which is causing this phenomenon?
