Having problems with your Nikon D70 Body Only Digital Camera ?

My Flash stop working, do i need to replace it? The built-in flash does not stay up. I can hear the clicking sound when it wants to pop up, but it stays in place. At this point it's pretty easy to open it manually, so I noticed what it seems to be a small spring on the right hand side. I guess it is there to hold the flash and it looks like it is off it's place. Is there a picture somewhere of how it is supposed to assembled? Thanks in advance, Gene

Answers :

I just checked my service info and do not have a good picture of the top cover. The top is sold as a unit by Nikon. An independent repairman may be able to repair the top if there is no damage. A work around would be to use an external flash. It would not have to be a Nikon brand, but you would have to set speeds and aperture manually to get proper exposures. Replacing to top cover would be more than 100$

Blurry LCD Well, I have recently got a SD400 camera from dell.com. The first thing I noticed was the inaccurate LCD. The picture in the LCD seemed blurry(bad resolutoin, weird coloring) and inaccurate. But, after actually taking the pictures, the picture seemed perfect. (In the review mode and the display right after you take a picture.) Is this a problem? This is my first digital camera, thus I had no previous experience with camera LCD. Or is this normal, without flash, everything is suppose

The button that contros the zoom and shutter snapped off my camera. It appears that the tips of the three tabs sheared off. The small spring that brings the zoom button back to center is still attached to the camera. If you set the button back in place, the zoom and shutter will still work, but the button comes right back off as you take your finger away. Can a new button be ordered and snapped on? If so, where would one order this part?

Btw neither of the little indicator lights illuminates when every thing is connected and powered up,

Any ideas? Has anyone had this problem before? Camera is only a year old so hope it's not broke! thanks for the help.

Hi, the flash card card-eject lever spring is broken and wont eject the card. u have to manually push the card in place and pull the card out. the lever stays up until u shut the card slot door.once the card is in place the camera can read the card if images already exist. but...it will not record an image and shows up as blank on the screen after the shutter takes the image? is this the cause of the broken eject lever. thanks.

I have the same problemI think that the reason that the not record the image is that the card slot door is pushing down on the card eject lever and ejecting the card when the door is closedThe only answer I can think of is to shorten the leverdavidh ... Green light on camera back to the right of the 'delete' button continually flashes on-off about 1 second intervals as soon as battery is inserted as long as CF card is in place. Switching camera ON produces no visible operational indicators. Depressing "Menu" button flashes: hour glass; menu display; blank screen. Holding button down just cycles as above. Swapped lens, data card, battery, connected EH-5 power source; nothing makes any difference. Checked same lens in another D70 camera; it's OK.

I would start by looking into the memory card slot to see if you have a bent pin. You may need a small light and a magnifying glass to see them. If the pins are okay, then you can try a reset by holding down the BKT and metering buttons toget ... Nikon D70s Digital Camera with 18-200mm lens

Hi, I had a spare kodak c330 camera which was in perfect working condition. Since I am using a Nikon camera now, i thought of converting the kodak camera to an infra-red camera. so i opened it, and after a few unsuccesful attempts, I was finally able to open the lens assembly and take out the infra-red filter. however, when I was putting everything back in place(assembling), there was a big spark - one like short circuit - probably caused by the huge capacitor that is used for the flash circuit.

I think that when the error occurs the caera is trying to pop open the built-in flash, at least someone told me that today.
