I have a Canon 20D camera that I use with two lenses. The lens that I have most of my problems with is the 28-70 f2.8 red ring lens. When focusing It always seems to focus on what is behind the subject. No matter how much I concentrate on the focusing sensor to focus on the subject -AND it looks like it focuses on the subject-UNITL I load my photos and look at them in disgust that it focused behind it!! What is going on?? I use the same lens on my friend's cannon 5D and NEVER have this problem.

This is quite a well known problem called 'back focusing' there is little that can really be done about it, except if the camera is under warrnty you can send it in and they will do some laser alignment that fixes the problem, it would be worth a cal ... Canon Digital Cameras

Poor focus I am using the Nikon d80 with a Sigma 24-70 mm lens. I am not satisfied with the crispness of the photos. I have tried shutter speeds of 1/500 and higher, using a tripod, and using shutter delay to get better clarity and sharp focus, but none has worked. The quality is not as good as my 2 meg Sony! Is this to be expected from the 10 meg cameras? thanks! [email protected]

Are you using a DX lens. Do you know if you have the camera's auto focus set to AF (auto focus) or M (manual)? There are many things that effect the focus and as an added note, any shots over 1/60 shutter speed in normal light should be in focus wi ... Nikon D80 Digital Camera with 18-135mm Lens

Hello, I have the s7000. My batteries seem to be fine. It does not save the pictures quickly like it used to. The green light at the back stays orange for a while, then flickers orange/gree, then it has saved the photo and i can shhot again. Also when i turn it off, if the light is orange it will not close or retract the lens. Only after a few seconds, quite a few will it close. I also notice the pictures are not as sharp as before. Also, a few times the lens has not come out when turned on,

The saving issue may well be helped by unloading the photos from the memory and memory card and then reformatting it. It is recommended that the memory be reformatted after every download of photos rather than just extracting them and using the ... Fuji FinePix S7000 Digital Camera

When using my d80 (no matter what lens is on it) it just keeps trying to focus and will not take the picture. It was fine on Sun and then Tue wham!! I can not think of doing anything to it and no one has touched it. You can hear the motor as the lens is trying to focus. If I focus manual no problem except a lot of the photos may still be blurry (that could be me)

Be sure the lens is firmly switched to M/A. For some reason the camera is not acquiring a subject to focus on. Have you tried a simple subject with lots of contrast, like a black something against a white background. Cameras have a tough time when ... Nikon D80 Digital Camera with 18-135mm Lens

Blurred edges My Canon Rebel XTi took awesome photos when I first bought it. I let a family member use it and I think the settings must have been changed or something, because now all my photos are blurred on the edges, esp. on the left side of the photo. I always use AF and the blurring occurs no matter what ISO I use. Also, my action shots used to be crisp and clear with no blurring whatsoever. Now they are blurred, doesn't matter if it's night or daylight and no matter what ISO. Is there

Blurring occurs not depending on ISO, i think the lens is the problem. try to clean the lens glass carefully, is there some grease stick on the lens? if not it might be dislocated one of the lens structure.have you try another lens? ... Canon EOS 400D / Rebel XTi Digital Camera

The AF on my Canon 40D seems to be malfunctioning. It will partially work but remains slightly out of focus no matter which EF lens I use. However, the images, one transferred to the computer, remain sharp. Any suggestions? Thanks

Remove the lens and look at the metal contacts on both the lens and the camera. If these are dirty or corroded it could be the problem.\015\012\015\012Here are some instructions on cleaning the contacts:\015\012 ... Canon EOS 40D Digital Camera

I have a Caonon 40D. I thought I was having a lens problem at first. However after using 2 other lenses I have found out it is my Camera. No matter how clear and crisp the image is in the view finder. After the photo is taken and loaded into PS4. The image is blurry and unsharp. I have reset all camera settings to factory with Canon. And I am still getting the same results. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

It is probably due to dust on the sensor, or sensor alignment not properly done. In both cases you have to take the camera to a Canon dealer for servicing. ... Canon EOS 40D Digital Camera

The focal length on my Nikon S52 Coolpix seems to be much shorter than it was originally. No matter the adjustment I make to the settings, at least part of the photo is extremely blurry. I have tried both with Auto-Focus on and off, but there is always a small square in the center of the view finder, and this is only region that shows a focused image. The camera used to produce sharp images throughout the picture. How can I adjust this?

This ccan be an error in the lens settings that have changed the alignment or a possible shift of the lens before the CCD imager.\012This canot be retified wxternally asn I advice that you get help from Nikon, specially if under warranty for a ... Nikon COOLPIX S52 Digital Camera

I got a Nikon D5000 and 18-55mm lens. When I take pictures using focal between 18-24 mm the deep of field is not sharp especially for landscape pictures. I made at list 200 pictures (the same image) test and the conclusion was: between 18-24mm focal the far field is not clear but what it is close to lens is sharp. The sharpness is coming when I change the focal to 35-55mm. I got a Nikon 24-70mm lens only for test purpose and the same. My test was on different modes that means P, S, A, M, and Aut

Canon rebel xsi, using 75-300 lens, taking photos of basketball game, pictures are blurry, especially the ones in "action" using the sports mode. also tried my 18-55 IS lens, same thing happening, using auto focus and stabilizer

I live in the Florida Keys and going to try and take some photos of the supper moon tonight. What settings do you suggest for a Sony SLT-A55V. I tried to use my longer lens last night without a tripod and could not get any detail just a white globe. I will us my 55mm-58mm lens tonight. Can you suggest what settings to use and filters to try. Thank you. Karen Szol [email protected]

Black photos When I turn on my camera (Nikon Coolpix S5, I believe), I can access old photos and see the symbols that are usually on the screen when it used to take photos. However, if I take a photo with it, it is just black. The camera flashes and acts like it has taken a photo. There is no lens cap, so that is not the problem. Is the camera simply broken?

This is unfortunately one ccd fault...you must change the ccd of the camera. it s possible to find the entire lens block in international seller for many types of camera...search if you can find your lens to a good price and prove to change it alone ... Digital Cameras

I have dissembled the camera many times (yes, I void the warranty, I know) to rectify the unalingment of the 'lens extension' mechanism or whatever you use to describe =) After solving this however, I still thought it nescesarry to replace the lens. I have several filters for fleuroscent photo taking which I wish to install but I just could not get to the blasted lens. I figured I must have to dissemble the LCD screen to access the lens, but would like to know if this is permissible, seeing the

All of a sudden every picture I take with the 55-200 zoom lens is blurry and slightly out of focus. Pictures with the 18-55 lens are still sharp. I have been using that 55-200 lens for years for sports shots, and have never had any problem. I get the same blurriness shooting in both the auto sports setting and in shutter priority. It is a brand new issue. Could it be the AF servos starting to go in the lens, or am I doing something stupid?

Simplest answer is that you may have accidentally flipped the focus switch (A/M) on the lens to M. This turns off autofocus for that lens (which you might need to do if autofocus just can't resolve the image). Try turning it back to A.Ano ... Nikon D40x Digital Camera

I am having trouble photographing birds. Do I use the telephoto lens or the wide angle lens? I also have a macro lens for my Canon EOS 400D SLR Also what settings do I take them at. I have a tripod but the birds are too quick so they have to be for hand held. I am finding that when taking them with the telephoto lens they are not sharp and the background is blurred and not good. Thank you Val

Use the telephoto lens.. wide angle will tend to distort the image and provide too much detail( distraction) around the object of interest. Bird pictures become more interesting when they are mainly of the bird. So when you look through the lens, zoo ... Canon EOS 400D / Rebel XTi Digital Camera

I have a Nikon D70 (with a 18-55mm lens) and have always used it in Auto mode. It suddenly stopped working in auto mode...won't take the picture at all. Did I break the lens??? If I tip the camera back and forth the lens will move (zoom in and out) by itself...don't remember it doing that before??? Fixable or do I need a new lens?

I have a Nikon D70 and i am a photographer I shot a customers photos today. I shot the first half of the photos on this compact flash card and downloaded to my computer and then put it back in the camera and formatted the card. When I put the card back in I shot the rest of the photos using the same card. The last 2 photos I shot said that there was no image file and that I needed to change the card. I went to download the files to the computer but its telling me that the card needs to be format
