Having problems with your Nikon D70s Digital Camera ?

Nikon D70 I have a Nikon D70, been using it for 3 years now without a problem up until 2 months ago when I tried to take a picture the screen read "CHG" or "Charge." I assumed it meant the battery. I charged the battery for a full day thinking this would work and of course it didn't. I did the same thing for the next three days with no luck. I eventually bought a new battery and still the word "CHG" or "Charge" shows up on the screen and doesn't allow me to take any pictures. Would you happen to

Greetings,
It is actually an error message generated by your compact flash and means that the card is no longer readable. A lot of D70 owners have reported this error without being able to find another solution other than reinserting the card or changing the card to a different brand. In my D70s I use Sandisk Extreme III memory and, knock on wood, have not yet had this error. You could also try cleaning out the memory card slot and check to see that all pins are aligned and not bent.
Good Luck,

Deffinitly a card error vs battery. I had a card on which the internals became loose which was causing write errors.

\015\012Check your connector pins and shake your card to test for loose internals. Try borrowing a friends card to eliminate the camera as the sorce and vice a versa.

I got interupted by a power glitch while I was emailing you. Don't know if I got through so will start again. My D70 Nikon will not let me shoot a picture and displays the letters CHG in the window on top of the camera. I've not seen this before and don't have my instruction book with me as I'm traveling. I changed the battery and that didn't help--battery is fully charged. I changed the card and that allowed me to take a couple of photos, then same message. Can you help me through

I have had the Nikon D40 for about 4 years. It has performed wonderfully and I love it. Just recently, the battery suddenly died (in one hour it went from 3 bars to one) and after several failed attempts to charge it, the camera would not allow me to take photos due to the battery needing recharging (flashing one bar). I ordered a new Nikon battery and put it in the charger when it arrived today. It registered that it was charging and after over an hour said it was completely charged. When

Kodak M763. Display works all right if I review photos already taken, but there is usually no display when I try to take a picture. It's black. It may be that, if the battery is fully charged, I may see a display in a sepia tone or a bluish overcast. The information on the screen is bright, it's the viewfinder image that can't be seen. It would have helped me if I could turn it on while its charging, but I can't. That would have solved te question of a low-voltage electrical input. If a subject
