The "For" message means you need to format the memory card.
Copy anything you don't want to lose off of the card.
\015\012Locate the LCD Illuminator Button (next to LCD on top) and the Shooting Mode button (next to Brackting button (BKT) on back). Next to both of these button should be the word "format".
\015\012Simultaneously press and hold both buttons for two seconds. The card will format. Once done, the LCD will display the number of pictures available to be taken on the card.

I am having a problem with my camera. It works in the sense that it turns on and takes pictures. However, the both the digital lcd display and normal finder display remain black, even after removing the lens cap. I let a friend borrow it a little while ago and I suspect they may have changed some settings, but I'm not sure what to look for to fix it. When it takes pictures, they come out looking very distorted and strange. But, it does take pictures, the flash goes off and a picture records. c

I have a Nikon D90 with a new Extreme III memory card. I can out in bright sun and often it won't click even though it has focused. It gives me a flashing F--- saying that I don't have a lense attached but I have a Tamron 18-270 on. It also gives me a r17 or21 reading in the ISO/ picture count box. If I turn the camera off, take out the battery, or zoom in and out then sometimes it will take one picture and then stall again. I am loosing some great shots. Help.

I have a Nikon Coolpix L110. When I take pictures, they often look yellow. I can get the color to correct by focusing on a nearby area, but when I return to the shot I want to take, the color almost always goes back to a yellowish cast. I bought this camera because I was having the same problem with my last Nikon. I thought it was the camera. Now I'm thinking the problem is with the manufacturer.

On my Nikon D70s, when I take a picture and see the image previewed briefly on the back LCD, the highlights flash negative image tones(black) in about 1/2 second intervals. This same effect is also present when scrolling thruough and previewing the images on the LCD. Is the LCD going out? Thanks in adavance for any help you can provide.

The screen on my M380 does not show the image. The camera is fully charged and when I press the "on" button, the lens extends and opens. The screen is illuminated, but there is no image of what the picture will be. Nikon D80. It worked fine until recently (maybe after I took pictures during whale-watching in a heavy rain and camera got wet). Now the view in the viewfinder is kind of greyish and blurry. Focus area brackets in the viewfinder are now always visible and white. And when I half-press the shutter button the whole viewfinder flashes in red color. Basically, the camera still works and takes pictures, but it is hard to see through the viewfinder and it behaves very strangely.

Seems like your problem on greyish/blurry viewfinder is caused by the camera getting water logged. Get your cam cleaned by Nikon.\015\012\015\012The flashing red light usually happens if you have this indicator set in the camera. This m ... Nikon D40x Digital Camera

Install fully charged batter, turn camerap power on, LCD panel indicated full battery power, push shutter button halfway down to auto focus, can maybe take one picture with what seems to be a very slow reacting shutter, then LCD panel goes blank as if no batter paower remains.
