When I changed lenses my d70 went dead

\015 I cannot get it to come back on\015

Answers :

I had something very similar happen to me.
\015\012I now know what I did wrong.
\015\012I was using an older type lens that did not have electronic contacts.
\015\012I forgot to turn the camera off before I removed the lens and I believe this may have short-circuited the camera electronics.
\015\012I have to get the camera repaired at a cost of about £90 (sterling).

Dead Nikon D50 in mint condition... Changed lenses with the power off. Powered back on and no LCD, or any actions at all. Flash will not pop up, no shutter noise, no auto focus. No top menu, no back menu. Did the double green button reset and the hard (hole in the bottom of the camera) resets while both on and off, with and without batteries, with and without SD card and every combination. Blurry photos I get one crisp clear photo out of about 15. I don't know the reason. I have sent it in twice and they repair it (ya right) and I get the same thing. The only thing I can figure out is that on the lense ring if I make sure it is pointed toward the pine trees (lanscape I assume) that it will take a decent photo. They have changed the lense supposedly on the second time I sent it in. I have an extended warrantee on it yet.. I went into settings and took it off of auto and put it on l

You're right, it could be a shorted circuit, bent usb pins (rare), or a faulty usb cable, but most likely the battery terminals could be slightly dirty, or oxidized. In that case, you have to clean them with a qtip and alcohol. Also make sure y ... Digital Cameras

I bought this camera on ebay for my daughter- it seemed like a good idea at the time. I have the same model (bought new) & have no problems. The ebay camera went through batteries alarmingly fast and when I changed them they were hot. On our 6th day of ownership a message appeared on the screen that said "Lens error, restart camera" We could not restart the camera b/c it wouldn't do anything - it was dead and the lens won't retract. Lens stuck I have had this problem twice with this camera, the first time I exchanged the camera for a new one. The second time the batteries went dead and the lens was out. Won't focus I was out shooting some sports the other day and all of a sudden my camera (D70 with a 200mm lense) would not focus and started going a little crazy. however, it would still take a shot occasionally. when i tried to change the menu, the menu itself on the monitor was jumping around and wouldnt let me select anything. then suddenly it worked again. then again, just as suddenly, it stopped working. this has never happened before and I'm at a total loss other than to take it to a dealer

Button-be-dead Ok, so this might sound kind of stupid but my camera was in my purse and I didn't drop it or anything, but when I went to take it out to take pictures, the button you push to take the picture was already half down so it won't stop auto-focusing. I can't zoom in or out, look through my pictures, turn the flash off, delete pictures, or change picture styles. I know it's because of the button already being down halfway but I really need to know how to fix it and get the button back
