Having problems with your Nikon D70s Digital Camera with 18-200mm lens ?

Green light on camera back to the right of the 'delete' button continually flashes on-off about 1 second intervals as soon as battery is inserted as long as CF card is in place. Switching camera ON produces no visible operational indicators. Depressing "Menu" button flashes: hour glass; menu display; blank screen. Holding button down just cycles as above. Swapped lens, data card, battery, connected EH-5 power source; nothing makes any difference. Checked same lens in another D70 camera; it's OK.

Answers :

I would start by looking into the memory card slot to see if you have a bent pin. You may need a small light and a magnifying glass to see them.
If the pins are okay, then you can try a reset by holding down the BKT and metering buttons together for 2 seconds. The metering button is on the left, behind the off/on/release.

Thirdly, you can try a firmware update on the camera which can be found here:

Did the double green button reset and the hard (hole in the bottom of the camera) resets while both on and off, with and without batteries, with and without SD card and every combination.
