Having problems with your Nikon D80 Body Only Digital Camera ?
D80 LCD response
\015 You said that the D80 wouldn't show "live" images, only a temporary view of a shot just taken. When I first bought the camera, I didn't have to look through the viewfinder (I could if I chose to) to see what I was shooting. I am sure there was an active display. Now it doesn't work.\015\012Thanks\015
If there was an active display, then there was something wrong with your camera.
The D80 does not have a Live View capability.

The top (monochrome) LCD on our Nikon D80 recently broke. I think that it is actually called the "Control Panel," and displays settings, battery life, number of pictures remaining, etc. Please note that this is not the 2.5" color LCD on the rear of the camera. I know that it is merely the LCD because the backlight works, as does portions of the LCD display itself. Does anyone know of a guide or video to perform this repair? Also, does anyone know the part number? I plan to call Nikon tomor

Just got a new Nikon D80. I'm used to a Coolpix which has continuous images on the LCD. The D80 appears to present an image only when monitoring the picture and not while using the monitor to compose the shot. I assume this is because it is of the SLR breed. Am I correct?

I just got my new Nikon D80 but cannot get the LCD screen to light up. Where do I find the setting or the LCD screen to have it on while shooting pictures?

The r09, r11 or r17 just tells you how many pictures you can shoot before the internal memory buffer is full. It's not an error message, and I don't think there's any way to turn it off. ... Nikon D80 Digital Camera with 18-135mm Lens

Here we are on our DREAM trip West, currently at the Grand Canyon. Now, with my D80 getting an 'F---' error message in my LCD settings area. Was using my 18-135mm lens. Finally, and regrettably, switched to my telephoto and error message disappeared. This AM put the 18-135 lens back on and worked perfectly for a few inside shots inside our RV.
Use a clean moist cloth and clean the electrical contacts on the back of the lens and in the mount on the body. When putting the lens back on, try jiggling the lens a little and see if that helps. ... Nikon D80 Digital Camera with 18-135mm Lens
