Nikon D80 display window on upper right shows flashing F-- and will not take pictures What s wrong? Jeff

Answers :

If your lens has an aperture ring, do note that most of these lenses require the ring to be locked at a certain position for it to work. In the course of using the lens, you may have accidentally unlocked the aperture ring and moved it out of position. This is a common problem.
\015\012To fix this error, try this:
\015\0121. Turn off camera
\015\0122. Turn the aperture ring clockwise and then lock it
\015\0123. Turn on the camera
\015\012If you still encounter the same problem, repeat the same steps but turn the aperture ring counter-clockwise. Hope this helps.

Ususally happens when no lens is intalled to the camera! i think change the lens and see if the problem solves! can be connections between the lens and body!

The flash indicator flashes on the display for quite a while and then the picture is finally taken. This seems to have happened after the battery was run down to nothing. After that, this flash problem appeared. I have got another battery but this still happens. I have reset to default settings as well . Still has problem. What is wrong?

I have a Nikon D80 camera that is about 1 year old. I has worked fine until about 6 months ago. Sometimes when I turn it on and press the button to take the picture nothing happens.
