Having problems with your Nikon D80 Digital Camera ?

I have D80, in my display when viewing photo's any white colors are flashing from black to white. Any solutions?

Answers :

You're seeing blown-out highlights. These are areas where you've irrevocably lost data due to overexposure. If too much of the picture is blown out, you may want to reduce exposure some and shoot again to preserve the data.

You can press up or down on the multiselector to change your view. The camera provides several different views of your images, including data, histogram, and, as you've discovered, highlights.

When I turn my 550 PowerShot on, I get a blank screen (black for the most part with white camera symbology around the screen, such as the flash symbol, etc). The screen works, as I can click a picture and see the photo momentarily. I can also view my saved pics. When I select the film mode, the screen looks normal.......meaning it displays a color image of what is in the lens. Have I inadvertently selected a mode which is causing this phenomenon?

Think that you might have accidentally pressed the DISP or DISPLAY button on the back of your camera. This manually turns the LCD display on and off to save batteries. You would then use the optical viewfinder in its place. To turn the screen back on ... Canon PowerShot A550 Digital Camera

I was taking pictures outside using a tripod mounting and had my Fujifilm FinePix S5000 on in photography mode - Auto mode. Upon placing the tripod for a new photo, I observed that the LCD monitor had turned white with intermittent horizontal flashing black lines. The view through the viewfinder is also white but without the black lines. When a photograph is taken the image is white. I should point out that in Playback mode I can view previously taken photographs perfectly on both the moni

Overexposed photos?? when i hit my shutter release button, sometimes the flash doesn't pop up and the view finder goes black. (it's like the camera is taking a picture but when I release my finger from the shutter release button it doesn't release) The only way to "get out of it" is to turn the camera off then back on. when i go to playback...it is a white picture. are my settings messed up and how do i avoid this in the future. Many picture moments are missed because of this!

The view finder "going black" on an SLR is caused by the mirror being up, which is also when the camera is actually taking the picture! The mirror sends the light from the lens to either the viewfinder or the sensor. When it's down, the light goes ... Nikon D80 Digital Camera with 18-135mm Lens

Nikon D80. It worked fine until recently (maybe after I took pictures during whale-watching in a heavy rain and camera got wet). Now the view in the viewfinder is kind of greyish and blurry. Focus area brackets in the viewfinder are now always visible and white. And when I half-press the shutter button the whole viewfinder flashes in red color. Basically, the camera still works and takes pictures, but it is hard to see through the viewfinder and it behaves very strangely.

Seems like your problem on greyish/blurry viewfinder is caused by the camera getting water logged. Get your cam cleaned by Nikon.\015\012\015\012The flashing red light usually happens if you have this indicator set in the camera. This m ... Nikon D40x Digital Camera

Hi.my daughter's Panasonic DMC-FZ7 has gone dark through the view-finder, and all the photos and videos that she tries to shoot are likewise totally black. While photographing yesterday, she paused to gently clean the lens. All photos since then have been black. The camera records taking a photo but shows a black screen on play-back.Changing to a fresh battery makes no difference, neither does using a flash. Hi, I have a camera, a Sanyo VPC-T1060 and it's having some problems. It turns on, flashes, takes photos apparently, but the LCD screen won't work.
