Nikon D80 - Singe Focus Area

\015 Nikon D80 - in ''Auto'' setting the camera keeps reseting to ''auto-area AF, same is true in the landscape setting. The single area is suppose to be the default but every time I turn the camera off it goes back to ''auto-area AF''. I've tried doing the reset but it doesn't keep my changed setting. What do I need to change and how do I keep it, so I don't have to change it back each time I turn the camera off.\015

Once you have your settings, is there an option in the menu to save your profile? ( I do not have a Nikon DSLR..) If you can, try saving your profile and then restart again.

"Auto" modes generally are designed to reset to the pre-defined automatic settings, so it may not be possible to keep your changes every time.

Also, you can update the firmware, however there is no mention of any changes which should affect this issue.

Nikon D80. It worked fine until recently (maybe after I took pictures during whale-watching in a heavy rain and camera got wet). Now the view in the viewfinder is kind of greyish and blurry. Focus area brackets in the viewfinder are now always visible and white. And when I half-press the shutter button the whole viewfinder flashes in red color. Basically, the camera still works and takes pictures, but it is hard to see through the viewfinder and it behaves very strangely.

Seems like your problem on greyish/blurry viewfinder is caused by the camera getting water logged. Get your cam cleaned by Nikon.\015\012\015\012The flashing red light usually happens if you have this indicator set in the camera. This m ... Nikon D40x Digital Camera

I have a Nikon Coolpix L110. When I take pictures, they often look yellow. I can get the color to correct by focusing on a nearby area, but when I return to the shot I want to take, the color almost always goes back to a yellowish cast. I bought this camera because I was having the same problem with my last Nikon. I thought it was the camera. Now I'm thinking the problem is with the manufacturer.

Compare the Nikon d80 to the new d90. Can I use all my manual focus lenses from my Nikon film cameras? Also, all my filters and flashes.

All old lenses will work on the D90 the same way they work on the D80. Filters depend on the lens -- they either fit or they don't -- the camera has nothing to do with that. I wouldn't use old flashes on new DSLRs.There really is no diffe ... Nikon Digital Cameras

Nikon 18-200mm VR lens doesn't seem to want to AF focus at full focal length 200mm distance. I bought this lens second hand on ebay and am not certain if there is a problem with this lens. If I try to shoot a picture at full focal length indoors it seem to be fine or relatively close shots but out side, full distance shots it wont work. The focal ring is at full focus and just turns with no change in the view finder but it needs more. Poor focus I am using the Nikon d80 with a Sigma 24-70 mm lens. I am not satisfied with the crispness of the photos. I have tried shutter speeds of 1/500 and higher, using a tripod, and using shutter delay to get better clarity and sharp focus, but none has worked. The quality is not as good as my 2 meg Sony! Is this to be expected from the 10 meg cameras? thanks! [email protected]

Makes weird noise while auto-focusing - Nikon D80 Digital Camera with 18-135mm Lens

The 18-135 lens focus system is driven by a motor in the lens itself. So there are moving parts inside it, not really gears and pinions and such, but similar. If it works fine and doesn't make the focus jumpy or stick anywhere, it's probably safe t ... Nikon D80 Digital Camera with 18-135mm Lens
