Nikon D80 with a Sigma Lens (80 to 200 I think). In manual mode, often shutter won't release - this was a close up of a hummingbird with a fast shutter speed. Internal light meter showed underexposed, but the background was dark green. Initially, the shutter released, but later would not operate either with a remote, or by manually depressed the shutter release button. Switching back to auto, the camera seemed to work fine, but in this mode could not get the desired shutter speed. In full manual

Is there the equiv of "focus priority shutter release" Comments: Jan 09, 2010 - by "focus priority shutter release" I mean the ability to instruct NOT to allow shutter release (ie FULL depression of the shutter button" UNTIL focus is achieved and confirmed. I have this feature on all my NIKON and OLY pro and prosumer level cameras as well as my Panasonic GH1 (just got this little beauty and love it). I have a Nikon D80 with an 18-135mmNikkor lens. It's about two months old.
