Having problems with your Nikon D80 Digital Camera with 18-135mm Lens ?

When pressing the shudder release, it won't take and it gives an r11 error

\015 On the manual setting after setting my exposure, sometimes when trying to shoot I get an r11 on the screen and it won't take, or if it does it comes out completely dark. This does not go over well when I'm on location being paid to not be able to take a picture!\015

Answers :

What is the camera set to that makes you think this is not just normal behavior?  Since r11 is a normal indication, meaning your buffer is empty and you have 11 shots to take before you fill it, my guess is that you just are setting the camera so that the shot is terribly under-exposed.  \015\012
\015\012What do the histograms look like?  Are they exactly a single line or two all the way to the left or is it just bunched over to the left.

Flash Error Hi there, bought this camera about 6 months ago. I'm intermittently getting a problem with the pop-up flash. It pops up fine, but the screen gives me an error telling me it hasn't and won't take any shots. Have to keep switching it off and on and hoping it will work again. Sometimes it's a couple of days before it works again. It will take shots when I switch the camera to the 'no flash' setting, so it does seem to be just the flash. The error says that the flash release is jamming,

The error 5 can mean that there is something blocking the flash from popping up. If it is up but still get the message then you need to check to see if the little black pin/stick that lets the camera know that the flash is up, is not stuck. With the ... Canon EOS 400D / Rebel XTi Digital Camera
