Having problems with your Nikon D80 Digital Camera with 18-135mm Lens ?

In order to put the pictures from the camera on the computer, I connect them with an USB cable. However, there is no connection signal. I tried it with a another USB cable, but the problem persisted. Battery is fully charged. The Nikon transfer program doesn't work. What could be a solution. Thanks, Wouter vanden Beld

Answers :

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, or you can continue using Nikon Transfer.

I've had my Kodak Z612 for about 2 years with no problems. The last couple of times that I hooked the USB cable to the computer to transfer pics, I turn the camera to on as I would normally do, a blue screen flicks quickly with a message I can't read and the screen goes off, (doesn't stay on and give you the percentage of sync completed message). Computer doesn't seem to be finding the camera. No problems with taking pictures. Could it be my USB cable is bad? I've charged batteries but never bou

When I leave the fully charged battery in the camera for about 10 days it gets completely discharged. This is the original Nikon battery. I though the battery is old and bought a genuine Nikon battery. The issue is the same. My relatives have Nikon D200, D70s etc and they do not have these issues and the battery if left in camera last for more than 6 or many more weeks. How long should a fully charged battery last in the Camera ? ( I leave my camera off after use )

I have a Coolpix L100, and have installed the Nikon Transfer software. I am using a USB cable (that came with the camera) to connect my PC (Windows XP) to the camera. Inserted the supplied battery and a new memory card into the camera and connected the camera via "USB" cable to the supplied charger. Left the unit plugged in over night. The battery did not charge. This morning plugged the camera into a lap top computer using the supplied "USB" cable. Checked after 5 hours and found that the battery still does not seem to accept the charge. I have a Nikon Coolpix S3000 digital camera that cannot be switched on. I purchased this camera 2 months ago and have not damaged it or exposed it to extreme temperature, humidity or light conditions.
