Automatic numbering of pictures using Nikon D80

\015 I have a Nikon D80 and want to have more than one memory card to use with it. How can I make sure that it will keep "numbering" the pictures consecutive between the two cards and not just like 1-499 on each card? Windows will tell me you already have number 499 do you want to replace it when adding to a folder. any suggestions\015\012thanks \015\012barb\015

Am I loosing my mind?? My Nikon D80 no longer displays an image while I'm composing a picture. It definitely did..I was in the middle of composing and it just shut off. It displays in playback & after the picture is taken but no longer while composing. I've had this camera for over a year & use it frequently. I took it to a camera shop and they said the d80 does not show "live view" & I must be mistaking it for d90. I definitely have the d80.

You're not nuts. I saw a guy activate live view on the d80 while doing a demonstration on a Youtube tutorial. I just can't seem to find the video nor how to activate Live View on my camera. I think I'll try contacting Nikon directly ... Digital Cameras

The top (monochrome) LCD on our Nikon D80 recently broke. I think that it is actually called the "Control Panel," and displays settings, battery life, number of pictures remaining, etc. Please note that this is not the 2.5" color LCD on the rear of the camera. I know that it is merely the LCD because the backlight works, as does portions of the LCD display itself. Does anyone know of a guide or video to perform this repair? Also, does anyone know the part number? I plan to call Nikon tomor

I have a Nikon Coolpix P2 camera that I love. I used to have Picasa 2 software loaded and it automatically detected when I attached the camera to a USB port. I've accidently upgraded to Picasa 3, and that software will not detect and start uploading the pictures. Which software should I be using to upload pictures from the camera to my PC? Thanks.

It's probably because Picasa 3 is not your default import program for photos. You can fix this by:In Windows XP, your default import setting must be adjusted on a device by device basis:* Connect the import device (your camera or ca ... Nikon Coolpix P2 Digital Camera

Just got a new Nikon D80. I'm used to a Coolpix which has continuous images on the LCD. The D80 appears to present an image only when monitoring the picture and not while using the monitor to compose the shot. I assume this is because it is of the SLR breed. Am I correct?

Yes. Only the most recent DSLRs have a Live View capability. The D80 does not. ... Nikon Digital Cameras

Hi there, I am having the same problem. I have this dark round cicrle on each of my photos weather im outside or inside night or specially at night. I have a D90 nikon and it has a hoood on it and iam not using the additional flash just the build in it goes automatic since I did put it on automatic settings. Another thing how do I correct the pictures that has the black shadow, since it is made already. Thank you [email protected]

A huge possibility, without actually seeing the picture is that it's a shadow caused by the lens hood. The internal flash units are "generally" good for up to about 80mm then the focal length of the lens starts getting in the flash burst, add a hood ... Nikon D90 Digital Camera with 18-105mm lens

I have a Nikon D50 which has not been used for over a year but has had very little use from new. There is no image viewable after taking a picture only the numbered frame where the image should be. I tried to replace the SDHC card but this is rejected.

Make sure that your battery is fully charged. Check the card in a card reader on a computer and see whether it has black photos. If that is the case, either the shutter is not opening or the imaging sensor has gone bad. ... Nikon D60 Digital Camera

After almost two years, pictures taken with my Nikon D80 are showing a black dot in the middle of the photo. You can't see it in the view finder and it shows up on all the pictures I take regardless of which lens I use. The mirror inside the camera does not have the black dot on it either. Is it a problem with the sensor? How can I get it fixed?

Your sensor has some dust stuck to the sensor. You will have to take it to a service center, they will clean up the sensor for you. It is inexpensive. ... Nikon D80 Digital Camera with 18-135mm Lens
