Problem with camera battery

\015 I have a Nikon D80. I have recently bought a replacement battery because I was having trouble with the old one keeping a charge (so I thought). I brought the new battery home. (DigiPower) Charged it up...and it worked like a charm all during Christmas taking pictures. Then, battery indicator said that it was low (1 bar). So, I charged it up all night. Light was blinking with I went to bed...light was solid in the morning indicating it was a fully charged battery. When I put the battery in the camera, I still get one bar! No other information pops up on the screen. Completly blank. Please no one ask me if the battery was in the right way. It only goes in one way. And yes it is the right battery type for my camera. I don't know what to do. I'm so frustrated. Would it be maybe my camera isn't reading the battery? Please help!\015

Mikeandlenna,
\015\012I'm guessing you have had the D80 over a year and past the warranty so you purchased a new battery. If the battery is fully charged and reads partial, check to make sure the contacts are clean (the compartment in the camera might have something on it or hopefully not some corrosion) use a dry q-tip to test and see if anything comes off the contact and on to the q-tip, if that's what it is, then you will be back in business. let me know if that's not it and we can try another route.

Battery issue Hi, I've owned this camera for about 1 year. In the last couple of months the red battery icon will flash and the camera will shut down thinking it has dead batteries. The problem is, we may put in brand new batteries or fully charged re-chargable batteries and the icon is there right away. Does the mini battery inside need to replaced?
