I have a Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4.5 Macro lens working on a Nokon D40X and Nikon D300. For medium to long distances the autofocus does not seem to work with this lens. I think it used to but now I notice that from about 40 feet away the autofocus does not work. The same happens with both cameras. Other lenses work fine so I don't think it is the camera. Is there any history of problems or is it a feature of the lens? thanks, Richard Brand

It seems to me that Nikon Point & Shoot cameras, or at least the last 2 that I have bought, have a usable life span of approx 4 or so years before the LCD's decide not to work in turn, makes the camera non usable. I have a 5700, 3.5 years old before it stopped working & a S4, which the LCD also quit working and it is 4 years old, I think my next point & shoot will be a Canon to go along with it's big brother that I bought this year, 50D Does anyone have a solution to this Nikon problem? Then it started working okay in autofocus. Later that day quit altogether. (Would not release shutter even in manual mode.) Removed the lens and cleaned the contacts on both lens and camera, started working okay but only temporary. Went through several cycles of this over the weekend, so I'm not sure

I have a Nikon D60 and my autofocus has stopped working. It is not because of the lense because i have tried other lenses and the auto focus won't work with them either so it must be an issue with the body.

You should check custom menu setting 2, and make sure it's set to one of the auto modes. Make sure the lenses you are using are AF-S and not regular AF lenses. The D60 has no autofocus motor, so autofocus only works with AF-S lenses. \015\012 ... Nikon D60 Digital Camera

The top (monochrome) LCD on our Nikon D80 recently broke. I think that it is actually called the "Control Panel," and displays settings, battery life, number of pictures remaining, etc. Please note that this is not the 2.5" color LCD on the rear of the camera. I know that it is merely the LCD because the backlight works, as does portions of the LCD display itself. Does anyone know of a guide or video to perform this repair? Also, does anyone know the part number? I plan to call Nikon tomor
