Having problems with your Nikon D90 Digital Camera with 18-105mm lens ?

Nikon D90 stuck on manual focus mode.

\015 I just bought a Nikon D90 a couple of days ago. I have been using both autofocus and manual focus, but this afternoon after setting the switch back to the AF (autofocus) position, the camera didn't respond. I have tried a reset. I have also disconnected and reconnected the lens (which is set to focus mode), but it just doesn't want to get back into AF mode. Is there something I'm missing or should I take the camera back to the shop? \015

Have the Nikon D90 camera and it does not allow me to take pictures when ever I want. It is in full auto mode and just does not want to take the picture even in bright day light. The F keeps on blinking in full auto mode and even if I switch to manual mode it does not allow me to change settings. It is very frustrating! what is wrong with this D90??

The blinking F-- means that the camera doesn't think a lens is attached. You can try removing the lens and re-attaching it. Or if you have another lens, try that. There are quite a few reports of this issue with the 18-135 kit lens. ... Nikon D90 Digital Camera with 18-200mm lens

Whenever I try to take a picture using "auto focus" option with my Nikon D40, (using the standard lens that came w/the camera), it makes a clicking sound and will not auto focus. But if I use it in manual mode it does not click. What could be the problem?

This camera focuses the lens by sending an electronic signal to it. If you hear a clicking sound, the lens is receiving the signal, but not responding. I suggest you take the camera & lens to a local photo store & ask if they could let you mount anot ... Nikon D40x Digital Camera

Overexposure My Nikon D40x is WAY overexposing in AV or S mode. Does it need repairing? (a long trip to get fixed). Compare the Nikon d80 to the new d90. Can I use all my manual focus lenses from my Nikon film cameras? Also, all my filters and flashes.

All old lenses will work on the D90 the same way they work on the D80. Filters depend on the lens -- they either fit or they don't -- the camera has nothing to do with that. I wouldn't use old flashes on new DSLRs.There really is no diffe ... Nikon Digital Cameras

Hi, I've just recieved my nikon d90 back from a repair and service, and although everything appears to be working fine, whenever I want to change shooting modes,( auto, P, M, flash off etc), they only work once I have selected them, and then turned the camera off and back on. In other words I cannot be shooting in the Auto mode and then switch to "flash off auto"....all that happens is that the auto focus works but the shutter will not operate. If I switch the camera off and on however, I can t

My Nikon D40x won't auto-focus. When I press down the shutter button, it won't do anything at all. If I switch to manual and back to auto, it works for 2-3 shots, and stops working again. I have a nikon d200. The last time I used it (only a few days ago) it was fine, everything normal. Then yesterday I pull out out of the case and everything seems to be going wrong. It is metering INSANELY low, like a shutter speed of 100 in full daylight produces a REALLY dark image. It won't auto focus at all, and i am unable to change the fstop in manual or aperture priority modes. I tried to restore it to factory settings and the lcd screen flashed to indicate it had been restored but no luck

Your boyfriend is probably right, and it makes sense, if you can't change the f-stops. \015\012The following blog on Flickr might help you:\015\012 ... Nikon D200 Body Only Digital Camera

It still focuses (manually & automatically). My other lens, which was not on the camera at the time of the drop, works perfectly fine. Any suggestions on what could be wrong or how to fix it?

My flash seems to be stuck in the "suppressed" mode. Also the Manual on page 64 refers to a "turn" of the "command dial" to the "flash mode setting". Since that item is not described anywhere else and the only turnable dial is the "mode" dial, I assume that it means to press the flash mode arrow. When I do that nothing happens. The flash modes do not display as described in the manual. I can't figure out how to get the flash to function properly again. I have made all my attempts with fre

I have a Nikon D80 with a 18-135mm lens. I recently got an F-- where the aperture should appear. The error message in the manual says that "No lens attached." I tried detaching and reattaching the lens numerous times. I also tried cleaning the contacts to no avail. The only mode that the shutter will release in is the Manual mode. While in the M mode I couldn't adjust the aperture.
