Nikon D90 and memory card counter

\015 I inserted a new 8g memory card and I cannot see the counter, in it's spot showing (3.7) and k in top corner after brackets. Pictures are taken and saved ok. \015\012I formated memory card couple of times, no proper response.\015

Answers :

There doesn't seem to be a problem. The 3.7k means 3700, the k meaning thousand. If you were to take about 2700 pictures, you'll then see 999, then 998, and so on.
