Having problems with your Nikon D90 Digital Camera with 18-105mm lens ?

On my d90, under M (manual mode or aperture priority), the aperture on the readout goes beyond the actual aperture range; i.e. f3.5 - 5.6; readings will show aperture range of 5 - 29 when I scroll with the sub command dial; sometimes when i remove the battery it returns to normal; how can i fix this problem permanently?

Answers :

There is NOT a problem. The f3.5-5.6 indicates the maximum aperture in the zoom range. At 18mm the maximum aperture is f3.5, at 105mm it's f5.6. The minimum aperture ranges from f22 to f38.\012\012\012

So, at 18mm, the aperture can range from f3.5 to f22. At 105mm, the aperture can range from f5.6 to f38. At intermediate focal lengths the aperture range is somewhere between the two extremes.

Low Battery When turning the camera on, the screen often says "Low Battery", even if the batteries are brand new. The problems seems to last a few hours, then it turns on as normal. I have tried cleaning the contacts and the battery tubes, but nothing obvious seems to cause it, or solve it. Sometimes, it cuts out to "Low Battery" in the middle of taking photos, when the charge indicator on the screen has just been at full. Command dial on a friend's Fuji Finepix S9000 is NOT functioning. Can't control aperture, shutter speed, flash settings, etc. Can it be opened and fixed (he has no warranty, thus no problem with opening it). Is there a special setting or way of turning or pressing buttons that he is doing wrong? It says to press (and hold?) a button then twist the dial, but no change is made as far as I can see. I have tried enless things and have much experience (though I'd be a fool not to ask others). A

I've had my camera for about 3 years now and have never had any problems until a couple of weeks ago. When I turned the camera on, it forced me to reset date/time and would occasionally show aperture 00 and not take a picture. Turning the camera off and then on again, or removing and replacing the battery temporarily took care of the problem. Now I am getting the ERR 01 and can not take pics at all, regardless of which lens I use or whether I am using the IS option. I've tried cleaning the c

Sony DSC-S700 when turned on sometimes the screen is blurry and pink toned with blurry grey lines running accross the screen. Photos turn out the same. Happens intermittently. Have changed batteries, checked to ensure the dial on the top was centered on Auto Adjustment setting. Doesn't matter what setting display looks the same: pink and blurry with the lines. Checked all the settings in the menu. Not sure why it does this...worried it may be a board problem.

Battery Problem I have trouble with apparent battery failure due to bad contacts on the slide-out tray thingie that holds the batterys. Jamming it in several times when I change batteries sometimes helps, but often the camera will stop working in the middle of a shoot and indicate the battery is discharged. A quick in-and-out a couple of times of the thingie restores full battery power, but by then I've probably missed my picture. Anyone else have this problem? Other than that (and piss-poor aut
