Hard reset of Nikon s8100? My menu button isn't working at all. The only one that is working is the round scene-selector button on top...and even that one stops working after I press the shutter button (which doesn't respond either). I've tried removing the battery for a few hours and replacing it, but that didn't help. Is there a way to remove the backup battery as well? Is there a button or a trick to doing a "hard reset" without having to use the menu??

Nikon D100 Hi. Out of the clear blue my af lens doesn't work. No motor sound. Can use manually. Is there a motor in the lens that needs replacing? I think its only 4 years old (inhered camera). Nikon AF 70-300mm. I don't really have the money to go to camera store without indications of what I need. How costly is the motor? Also there is no light on the internal view box. Can you help? Thanks, Mary Louisville, KY

If the lens is AF (not AF-S) there is no motor in the lens. A motor in the camera turns a screw in the lens mount to focus it. If it is easy to turn it manually, my first recommendation would be to check that you didn't accidentally bump the focus ... Nikon D100 Digital Camera

My L730 was knocked off the table and seems to have now jammed, when I turn it on it makes 3 loud beeps then the screen goes blank. The power light stays on but it doesn't seem to be attempting to do anything. The lens is still out. I've tried removing the battery and waiting before replacing it then turning it back on and I've also tried gently manually moving the lens but the problem persists. Very Infuriating as I recommended this camera to others, 2 of which have bought one since !! Can anyb

All of a sudden our nikon coolpix P2 digital camera is stating lens error when we turn it on. the opening/closing mechanism will work and open but then after the photo lens thing comes out, it looks around and goes back inside the camera. I've tried to dust it a little with a soft brush, and jiggle it some but to no avail. I'm afraid repairing it will cost more than a new one. This one is 4 years old. Help!

My Olympus FE-370 has a broken screen, my fault. I bought a replacement off ebay for really cheap and it seems like it would work fine, but I'm having trouble taking the camera apart..A few of the screws, three around the screw-in tripod holder in the base of the camera, two on the right hand side close to the lens, and one right under the USB port, refuse to come out! If someone could help me with just that part, I would probably be able to figure out the rest! Thank you!
